Earlier today...this is the best view of the band I've had yet...and I still can't read it...and now I'm second guess the *V, which could be a *Y

Close up...it didn't matter what magnification, I still couldn't read it..possibly a 5 in there somewhere...but, who knows.

I took about 20 shots of the male but could not read the band

Definitely a V on top looks like.

In this shot the bottom band even looked red.

Sure looks like red to me. Could it be Black V over Red B ???

I wish he would too, ljames...but, I don't think it would help..(I've gotten pics of him this close) There's something wrong with that band..maybe dirty? not sure..you can't even tell what color it is...or you couldn't a few days ago..

IF banding records are updated, and IF it is Black over Red...you really only have one possible bird according to the MPS records for V black over red...All the others listed were banded in the early 90's.....
Here is the only record (MPS) for a recent (2011) peregrine with a black band (over red) with a V...

YEA!!! John will be so happy!!!

I figured it would only be a matter of time..she had been spending quite a bit of time in the box the past few days. Now to figure out the band number of the male...

Gosh, if they don't give her a name, we should come up with something!!!

Thanks. And calendar updated! Just emailed John and Amy so they could let the eagle scout who built the box know of the success!

Should I be worried? There is the egg in all its glory, but no Falcon around it.

Hi Kitten.

Nope.. It's fine. They are probably on the ledge. They normally won't start incubating until egg before last (if a 4 egg clutch, won't start until egg 3 is laid).
