I received a reply from DNR:

"As you can see below, Gigi notified me that the IPL Harding St. camera is out of service. I followed up with Juan and he let me know that they think the cabling is the problem. Therefore, the connection needs maintenance. They were advised not to disturb the falcons during the incubation period to do maintenance on the camera. I also support that decision since the weather has been so cold. It’s best that the female stays on eggs. I imagine that we will visit the Harding St. plant at the projected time for banding even if we don’t have any up to date info on the nest. Juan said they can do the maintenance at the time or after it’s confirmed that the nestlings are old enough to handle the absence of the mother."

So I guess we will find out what is going on at banding. I asked to be notified if the crew at Harding Street passes along hatching info, etc.

No apologies necessary, Arles! I think John is planning to call again on Monday to see if someone can again check the box for hatches. I will advise!

It appears we will not have chicks this year. :cryinggirl: John asked someone to check on the nest and they are still incubating eggs.

I am very behind here...

Thanks for checking, gigi...no chicks? :girlsad3: (here's a stupid question) Are they sure? did they wait for a parent to move off the eggs?...(yes, I'm grasping at straws)..you know how there can just be 1 hatch and eggs and you wouldn't know unless the parent moved...

That is coincidental, SGB. I was just thinking about this site.

John is relying on IPL for info. They have a pretty dedicated group of falconheads there so my guess is that it is correct. I will send him an email just in case something more is known. Market Tower will be banded on June 12 so I wonder if he plans to check out Harding Street while he is in town.

Will advise.

John replied:
"Adult still incubating at Harding Street; 55+ days. I'll pick up the eggs on the 12th."
Bless that mama's heart as she sits and waits for the eggs to hatch. At least we know she is not a quitter. :loveheart:

The IPL Harding Street report:

"John stopped down at Harding St before coming to Market Tower. He retrieved 2 eggs - the other 2 were gone. He called them "runt" eggs as they were definitely smaller than a normal sized peregrine egg plus one end of both of them were a bit pointed. They also were very light in color but that could be from being in there so long. He said one of the birds buzzed him a bit but not much happened. He's not sure why but he said he has seen runt eggs before but usually just one of the clutch is like that."
