I saw they changed the view Carly-thought we might have a calm weekend (After Union) but this sure
hasn't started out that way.

What I know:
DNR is aware of the deceased bird
John, now retired wants to retrieve the body to make a positive ID.
Camera is now aimed back to the perch and will remain in that position until the bird is gone - either retrieved or removed by the birds.
The original nest box cam is damaged and that is why the view is not good. Perhaps this was God's way of sparing us the heartbreak of a battle.

What I don't know:
Who this is although my guess is KathyQ, but whoever :sorrow:
When and if the body will be retrieved
How bird died. Natural causes, battle

As I know more I will keep you all informed. Sad day indeed. Bev, if you are watching, this isn't the outcome we hoped for...

I am still shaking here. I am heartsick as all of you are. Gigi and I were discussing how when Miss Edmonton did not come back from migration we just decided that she was in retirement on a beach somewhere. We also thought Kathy Q just probably left and went off to live out her days. that maybe she just relinquished her site and moved on. We have seen that before

But do nto jump to conclusions. She may have just passed away a peaceful death adn because no cams , no one knew. an d her partner is lying with her. so sad

hope John can get up there and get her or whoever it is.

I am supposed ot be off cams for a few days. But just decided to come and take a peek. :tissue: :tissue:
not a good year already

I am so sorry for all at this site and I will fondly remember her as a great mom and partner. I have several memories stuck fast

It took me the last couple of hours to recover from the schock and
it is still sinking in.
I was at my PC when the camview switched to the nestbox.

If this is KathyQ (and for now I assume it is) then, for me personnaly,
it is a comfort to know that she died in her own home.
It gave me great joy to follow her, Kinney and Sesenta for the last 8 years.
I remember especially 2011 with "our" Phoenix.
She and Kinney never gave up on that little one.

She was a very,very special Lady.

As Arles stated, this is most likely KathyQ I think. Sad as it may be, we all knew this was coming.
Maybe she went in the [honourable] falcon way, fought the ultimate battle.
Or she went peacefully, due to her age (as did Freedom).
Either way, she will never be forgotten, she will live on in her offspring and in our hearts.
She was a true legend.
