Just when you thought D.C. was done waiting around a computer for eaglets to hatch, the Metropolitan Police Department is now livestreaming another pair of bald eagles who are incubating their offspring outside of the department's Southeast academy.
"The eagles are an urban wildlife success story," MPD said in a release. The birds, Freedom and Justice, have been perched in an oak tree, 110 feet high, for 11 years.

Freedom laid one egg on February 18 and another on February 20. The eaglets are expected to hatch within the next four days.
Last Friday, the National Arboretum broadcast the hatching of one of two eaglets born to "Mr. President" and "The First Lady," with tens of thousands of viewers watching along. Two days later, young "DC2" got its sibling, called "DC3" for now.

Am watching the Hanover, PA nest right now. Pretty sure it's Mom Eagle sitting there at the moment. This morning around 9:00, Dad Eagle delivered a fish to the nest. He was a real over achiever last year, having the rim of the nest lined with fish. It is VERY windy here in Central PA.

First hatch in Hanover, PA last evening (3/28). I've seen pictures of the new arrival, but haven't seen it for myself via the cam yet. I understand there's also a big pip in the second egg. :-)

Eagleholic: WATCH CAUTION! Hanover PA nest

"There are many reports from cam watchers at the Hanover nest this morning that sadly, the eaglet has not been seen moving for many hours. First I must say that I have no confirmation or definitive answer at this point. The short time that I was able to watch without the cam buffering did not show the baby moving but it was a very short view. I am sending out the Watch Caution primarily because if the baby has passed, there may be actions by the parents to remove the eaglet or even consume it, that some may not want to watch. If I get any more definitive info, I will post it for sure. Many hugs to all who love and watch this nest, and talons crossed that the concerns turn out not to be what is suspected."

I have been trying to watch the Hanover nest, but I think it's overloaded with concerned eagle watchers. There is a Facebook page for the Hanover eagles with many unconfirmed and also unpleasant reports. At the moment Mom Eagle is on the nest.

I am having the same problem. I was finally able to refresh and get a live feed showing the chick and the unhatched egg, but I cannot tell anything. Eaglet is down and does not appear to be moving, but I can't really tell...

I'm sooooooooooooo behind with all the eagles...surely they haven't abandoned this nest...

Chatters (under the cam) said a large stick was accidentally dropped on the baby yesterday...no movement after that...
