If they stick with this spot ... there will be a cam. They usually do not turn on the cams till the 1st of October @ this site. Last year Ozzie came home and they turned them on early I think.

We were without power for 2 days so I missed that. Was just getting ready to vote this morning. 3rd place is quite respectable. :loveheart:

Both Harriet & M15 were in the nest tree overnight. M flew to the NW at 6:15am. Harriet brought sticks to the nest tree twice between 6:50am & 7:15am and placed them just above the old nest base before flying to the SSW. Go Mom Go!!

That is wonderful news. They have their work cut out for them. That entire nest needs to be rebuilt.

SWFL Eagles_Nest Building & Tracking The Area On A Windy Day 09-02-16 :7val:

Harriet & M15 met at the nest tree this windy AM, H coming from the NW and M from a front pine.
They both watched their territory intently.
Harriet flew at and grabbed a branch from the nest tree. M dropped down to help.
The branch fell to the ground below as Harriet moved away. Both flew to the south at 7:11am.

SWFL Eagles_Building A Nest~Part 1 of 2~Teamwork & Sticks Galore 09-04-16 :loveshow:

This morning of nest building was thrilling.
Twenty five +/- sticks were brought to the nest by both H & M.
Many sticks stayed in the nest base.
The nest base now has just room enough for two eagles in love.
There were triumphant moments, tender and scary moments including bonding and alert calls.

Happy Labor Day from everyone at the Raptor Resource Project! This lovely photo of hard-working Dad Decorah seems fitting to celebrate a day that celebrates the contributions workers make to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of the United States.

Have a great day, everyone! Our own period of relative leisure will be ending soon as cameras are cleaned or replaced, gravel is changed, and nest boxes are repaired. We look forward to seeing everyone back online later this fall!

SWFL Eagles_A Well Deserved Morning Away~M15 Adds One Stick 09-14-16 :15heartbeat:

M15 and Harriet took a well deserved morning off from nest building, spending the night in a west pasture tree before flying to the SE. M15 did add a stick at 7:15am and then left at 7:18am. Neither returned but a crow, pileated woodpecker and osprey made an appearance before I left at 10:00am.

I am in aw of this pair and how quick they are rebuilding. I can hardly wait to see what it looks like from cam view. Wskrsnwings love for the eagles is giving us such an inside view of nest building. :15heartbeat:

Part 1 09-15-16

Harriet & M15 added 23 sticks and 2 bunches of grasses in 3 hours this am. More time was spent placing the larger sticks of today. Many were placed together with both in the nest, leading to beaking (pecks at each other) in displays of both dominance and affection. Their bond grows stronger as they build their new nest.
