Thanks Bev! It sounds like Ma's broken leg isn't holding her back at this point. I am always amazed at how they just carry on under difficult circumstances.

they are still prepared to rescue her if need be as lots of 5 year old eagles in area but she is doing remarkably well. I went over to their site and reminded them of Lucy.

If you go back a few pages from this post you will see picutres of ma foot.

becasue I try to be optimistic and have seen berry moms progress, I think she will be fine. She may loose a talon, or not, but we may see eggs here yet.

After their meal, the two eaglets take a nap. They are less than a week old.



First hatch: May 5, 2014
Second hatch: May 6, 2014
First egg laid: March 28, 2014
Second egg laid: March 31, 2014

According to David Hancock the nest tree is a cottonwood; the tree height is about 90 feet with the nest being positioned about 75 feet up the tree.

Latin name: Haliaeetus leucocephalus
Nicknames: Ariel and Hunter

I am posting the link here and if you look at this page and then next one it will warm your heart. We have had so much adversity this year. Ma , here , was injured and there was thought of trying to capture her, bu t look at her legs and feet, look at her grandeur, looks at these gorgeous young ones.

you can be sure I will look for them when we make our yearly trip out to Vancouver and Vancouver island

We miss the mark on so many but the successes is what makes us continue.
