Hoping for the best here with the hurricane. Irma will hit the west side of Florida hardest. If we lose the nest, the eagles will have lots of time to rebuild. There are a several dead trees in the west pasture that may get toppled in the high winds, including the one that's dying where Harriet was working on a 2nd nest. Although, she seems to be working more on the nest in the nest tree. |

Very concerned for Harriet and M15. Here's an update from Eagle Cam: Southwest Florida Eagle Cam 1 hr · Thanks to all for your concern as we prep for #Irma, While we don't have any news on H & M right now, we are hoping for the best & prepping for the worst. As soon as we can provide updates on our area & the eagle's home, we will. Stay safe during this scary time. |

I posted this under the Weather Center too. From Forbes: Where Do Birds Go In A Hurricane? There is an interesting video showing birds in the eye of the storm. I pray that all the humans and animals are safe each time there is a storm. |

I hope Harriet and M are moving to somewhere safe. Marco Island, not too far away, is being hit by Irma now. |
