:teehee: Mom had left the nest while I went to get my pizza. When I got back, all eggs are unpipped...River (dad) came soaring in and jumped on the eggs -wiggle- wiggle- quick check - settle on them. He looked so happy and proud! About one minute later in comes Missy. She had her back to the cam, but I'm sure she was eyeballing River. He tried to look away like he didn't see her, but soon his head ducked and his shoulders hunched and he jumped off and left.

MOM and DAD!!! :teehee:

We are NOT naming these birds (or at any other nest) unless we absolutely cannot read these bands..and I guess RRP would have the "honors"!!!

Hopefully, if all goes well, we could see a hatch around 5/18 (give or take a day on either side)

First of all, I check this nest ALL THE TIME...I don't always post..just don't have the time...Secondly, Shep, I'm sorry if you don't like OR agree with our rules. (cough, cough) They are here for a reason. There are other less restrictive forums if this one is too restrictive for you..

I like the names River and Missy....but, I will continue to call them Mom and Dad for the time being. One person does not have the right to name birds and expect the rest of us to "go with the flow". Naming birds is usually a process: either by the bander, the organization that is responsible for a nest/box, etc. BCAW, as a forum, has only named 1 pair of birds that I am aware of...and that is Ozzie and Harriet in Richmond...we voted on it, all agreed to it, and made it BCAW "official"...Ironically, somehow the Richmond people picked up on it and those names stuck...it was rather funny. We did name the female at the Cobb nest several years ago..and while she was banded, VA doesn't name birds...so, after taking tons of suggestions from Cobb followers, we agreed to the name "Eve"..of course, VA DNR never recognized that..it was just a BCAW thing..There could be others, but they escape me right now. Point being, SGB does not go around naming unnamed birds and expect for those names to be acceptable to all.

Anyway, I'm just rambling on and on and on... :teehee:..and yes, I admit, slightly irritated..

Skygirlblue, I was joking with Shepherd, but it ended up being disrespectful to you. I am very sorry.

:egg8: Yes, sometimes it gets petty bad. This is a grain elevator, right? I suppose when they run their augers and other equipment it causes static, or maybe even shakes the cam?
