Thanks mwplay. That certainly would explain why she was MIA for several hrs earlier today. If she really needed food, I would think she would encourage the male to hunt rather than herself. Hopefully, she drove off whoever it was. I would hate to see anymore drama or losses at this nest.

noisey little thing.

heard kaking a few moments ago and heard before that also, but msut have been for food delivery as adult has come n (female ) with prey for a feed.

glad they have one chick. it i sot unusual if she is a first time mom, for only one to hatch. We have just been spoiled. It is good for mom also. . looks like some pieces are big bu t chick is fine :15heartbeat:

will try and do we video of feed when I run my cams off.

Been busy with my sites but will keep this one up for a few days also. it will take a while for tht mess form feed to disappear. Green girl got hit with PS from the sky and she still has it

I will post video and a few picutres later, you will hear kaking ,r but poor wee one. mom fed it so much. It put its head ,down as it wanted no more and mom made it feed again. So full, but mom is doing what she thinks is right. she could use another chick to feed, any around. :egg11:

I've been gone all day, so thanks for all the great coverage..

I am pretty sure this is the same male from last year, so he is experienced. I'm pretty sure we didn't have a cam prior to that (2015), so its anybody's guess at how long he's been there.

Dad has been on duty for a long time (so far). I haven't kept the feed open, but the left over prey has moved..so, don't know if he was playing with it or if he did a feed..

do falcons get frustrated? he called for a few seconds after this...wondering where Cadence is? Who knows what they are thinking...LOL

Well SGB, you've answered all my questions.

I have very limited viewing this weekend, but was just thinking he's been on for hours now. I saw him pick at the leftovers, but not to feed, just picking.

I saw her react to something yesterday, similar to an intruder response, and YES - that is a VERY interesting picture. I think she is dealing with an intruder... Could have been nothing, but she was gone for awhile after that yesterday.

Yep, quite interesting...I sure do hope its something minor...its definitely not a shadow of a TV...could be anything from another PeFa to a hawk...the shadow was flying back left to front right (as best as I could tell..) she came in from behind the outside cam in her usual fast fashion. Dad did seem to track whatever was flying above, but it must have soon left, because he settled down, then took off..

Well, whatever is going on, if anything, somebody needs to hunt and feed these kids...I hope dad is doing that now.

I was starting to think that Cadence had fallen back to her incubation behavior...letting dad do most during the day and she take over at evening and night...

3rd cam is down for maintenance, so can't watch that...

I too will have very little viewing time this weekend...

I personally do not think this is a weak male. If its another female PeFa out there, he's doing what he's supposed to do and stay with the kids..Hopefully, if he can get more time out there, he can successfully hunt...sounds like he's had very little time to do that. If Cadence is tied up with an intruder, she's not hunting either..!!!!
