These babies need lots of rest. They have been through the war the last couple of days! Many heros involved in protecting these chicks today!!!!!! :15heartbeat:

After box cleaned, the 2 chicks just slept ...

with time for a good feed too

I think the bugs are back...they are hard to see unless you go full screen..the dusting the kids got yesterday seems to be helping, but Mom (?) is shaking her head alot...she has been there all afternoon watching over her babies..(at least I think its Michelle..)

Hamilton and Burr-d seem to be more alert today! Very bright eyed. Now they are enjoying breakfast with their parents.

Great Spirit Bluff: How was the Eyas Found?
You asked, and George Howe talks about his search effort and the recovery of peregrine falcon eyas "Burr-D" rescued after jumping from the nest box, and returned with sibling "Hamilton" after the nest box was cleaned, chicks examined, and banded.
The distance of the fall was about 100-150 ft according to estimates, and Hamilton and Burr-D were chosen as names by the Howe family since they are fans of the musical, 'Hamilton'.
While the eyasses may continue to get pestered by some of the bugs, the hope was to minimize the insects harbored in the nesting material and repel them if possible. A net amount of bedding to lower the pea gravel surface was removed, lowering the surface below the box lip height so they would not be as likely to fall out, and repellants and insecticides to the inner and outer box were applied. A powdered insecticide was also applied to the eyasses to help reduce biting to help give them time to heal and recover from bites.
