Cadence looked at the eggs, pretended to turn them, wanted to incubate a couple of times, walked to the back right of the nest, back over to the eggs. A few minutes after this - she's gone again.

Union and Jersey City - No one home, but the eggs.

Union - Dad is on the eggs. He has blood on his cere where the left nostril is,...hopefully it's from a meal.

Union - Cadence is now in with the eggs. Standing over them.

Igloo is empty - no one visible around the igloo either (but it IS dark!). Just the eggs.

Wow, good news all around this afternoon!

Just checked in here about 10 minutes ago - CADENCE is incubating! She walked around in the igloo, turned the eggs several times, laid down on them, walked over the wall of the igloo a couple of times, and it looked like she could be in labor. Then she stood up, rearranged the eggs again, and now she's back down on them.

(Could she be egg-bound? Or is she just inexperienced???)

Now she's standing up again! Looking down, turns around..... and back down!

And by the time I finished typing this ... she's gone!

Someone incubating. Seems a bit early with only 2 eggs, but temps in the 50's here.

Dad was incubating when Cadence came into the igloo. Dad got up and rolled the eggs toward him while chupping. Cadence hopped around him the full perimeter of the igloo and then moved just outside the doorway chupping and bowing toward him. Dad leaves. Cadence comes inside and stands for a bit next to the eggs before settling on them. This is such an interesting scenario. Once she starts incubating, this will turn off her egg production. It appears that they are sharing incubation duties to some extent. I wonder if Dad's behavior, who was in full incubation mode when Cadence arrived and under different hormonal influences at the time, has slowly brought Cadence in sync with him. At this point, she may not lay an egg, but we'll see.

That didn't last long. Cadence is out and the 2 eggs are alone....and now Dad is back and settling on the eggs. His devotion to these eggs is such a marvel to me.

Cadence is kindof down on the eggs. She's down, but not covering the eggs.
(Sometimes it looks like she' pushing...)

Cadence has been standing beside the eggs, closing her eyes occasionally.

(Kind of like watching paint dry here! Beats cleaning!)
