Aries was on the ledge at the time..and the wind also caught him!!

I haven't been able to watch this much in a long time...I wish I had kept track of how many times Aries has landed on the ledge today...its been a bunch..I don't know if that's normal or not..

Photobucket is not working for me at the moment. I did see that the chick was not moving and Durand dragged it under her. I will keep trying photobucket.

Watching Durand with chick. CHick is not moving and Durand seems distraught to me; she is picking pieces of shell off the chick........ don't know what to think! :girlsad3:

I did just see it move slightly. She was picking up the chick to move it in Terka's video...hope she didn't hurt it.

Thanks for the coverage everyone...and thanks for the video, Terka..I have embedded it into your post for you..

I've been going through my video (same as Terka's) to see if anything really strange happened with the chick..it clearly was moving earlier..

It is strange that she has not pulled it under her..but we know that Durand has had some strange "birthing" moments in the past. She obviously knows something that we don't..but what..

Boy, talk about missing sound!!

Well, this is stressful. What's odd is that not only is she not pulling it under, but its not trying to get under...maybe because its too cold?

geeeeeeeeez..Sure wish Aries would show up to see if that would alter what's going on..

I'll be in and out as I get ready for work.

Just for reference, here was Durand's first hatch last year. She did almost the same thing. That baby moved more and was vocal..The current baby doesn't even look like its being vocal..just hard to tell..

I'm not going to embed it because I don't want us to get confused.

April 19, 2016 Hatch

Good morning Sky,

I did see earlier like around 6:30 a.m. that the chick was out of the shell and Durand sort of inched back and pulled the chick under by the wing. Then after a few minutes Durand lifted and began picking shell pieces off the chick. I don't know if this means anything but I just thought I'd was I saw........

I am leaving for work shortly. I will check in later..............
