lots of action earlier. both chicks on the other side of the camera while Lil' Dad is on the stick watching over everything. He leaves and I believe it was him that brought the food. Chicks came blasting around the column and down the ledge. One grabbed it and finally Niecey gains control of a feed. Lil' Dad is there the whole time too.

We watched that action from below, ljames. We saw Little Dad take off like a bullet and 30 seconds later he had caught what we thought was a Mourning Dove on the church roof right behind where we were sitting. We did not actually SEE him catch it. Blue and White are sleeping over at the column. Sorry to say that we do not know where Red is at the moment. He fledged successfully this morning, and was seen making strong first flights. We suspect he might be on the roof of Strawberry Square. We will be downtown early tomorrow morning.

From Falcon Wire News:
5/26/2017 :: First Fledges!
Around 6 a.m. on Thursday, May 25th, the blue-banded male took an accidental first flight landing on the roof of a nearby building. On Friday morning, May 26th, the Environmental Education Center staff and interns recovered "Blue" and placed him on the nest ledge.

Around 11 a.m., the red-banded male took his first flight, successfully landing on the nearby Harrisburg University Building and other nearby buildings. Observers have reported that "Red" is flying well. - See more at: http://www.dep.state.pa.us/dep/falcon/f ... tIZJe.dpuf

Anyone watching today likely saw both Red and White over on the ledge of the U Building. White fledged to the roof of that building around 7:00 this morning. Needless to say, we were THRILLED when Red was spotted this morning. And he spend about an hour sitting on the top of a flagpole in front of the Carson Building. Somewhere around 8:00 tonight Red returned to the nest ledge. He then started to fly all over the place and was running out of gas. He and White are safely tucked in for the night on the 9th floor ledge of the Carson Building. Will be back down there again early in the morning.

Still on cameras but if I go to the Hanover eagle cam they have a link that says all live cams. Right now there are two kids on the ledge. One on the point and one by the scrape.

Gosh Jane , sounds like it was a great day. Unfortunately, I/we couldn't actually see the birds on the cams as they weren't working. So proud of White!! Of course, knew Red was a natural. Yes, I too was wondering about Blue. Thanks for giving us a report when you can, especially after chasing the juvies around all day.

Red and White are doing very well. In fact, after leaving downtown tonight when they both returned to the nest ledge, it is VERY relaxing to turn on the cam and see them exactly where they were when we left. Those two were making short flights to various places on the Carson Building today, and over to the U Building roof also. At one point one of them somehow got food from the adults and flew with it himself to the top of the column. They spent a good deal of time resting on the other side of the column this afternoon. Somewhere around 4:00 this afternoon, Red flew to the top of 333 Market Street, the tallest building in Harrisburg. About five minutes later, White joined him. They spent several hours up there, at one point enjoying some food drops from the adults. Around 7:00 it started raining pretty good, and FINALLY those two flew back over to the nest ledge.

Am I seeing 2 falcons hugging the column right now? It's almost dark.

They often spend the night like that. I guess they like it, but it doesn't look comfy to me.
