I had to lighten all of these, so I really wasn't sure what I was seeing until I did that...Hopefully, I have these in the correct order..(I don't remember the box being this dark before...maybe because the sun has shifted?)

anyway....Aries enters first..

Durand follows

He doesn't stay long and makes a bee line outta there..

Leaving Durand, who really doesn't stay and soon follows him off the ledge.

If I hadn't seen the absence of the right band, I would have wondered who was in there. Of course, they really haven't been in the box very much together, so its hard to gauge their behavior.

SGB, I posted C&C's video as a private message to your facebook page. In it, Ehli is vocalizing to an intruding peregrine overhead at the Cleveland Clinic. I didn't know how to post it here, but I did find an old clip that you did of Durand when she was under attack by another peregrine on the ledge in 2012. It is the same sharp e-chup call as in C&C's video. The kekking or kakking call appears to be reserved for threats other than peregrines.

My pleasure. I had some time this weekend and found the videos quickly, but I have to admit...I am finding it hard to discern between the "e-chup" made towards a mate versus the "e-chup" made toward an intruding peregrine. :girlcrazy:

I think the alarm call has a very short syllable between the "e" and the "chup." C&C describes it as "sharp". Oy vey...I think it's still going to be hard for me to tell the difference....it seems sooooo subtle to me.

You and me both, Nadia!! I certainly don't want more wandering falcons visiting the ledge just so I can practice discerning the differences between the calls.. :teehee:

Our new male was in the nest box this morning with Durand standing on the ledge just staring at him - he did his best to get her to come into the box with him - so far no luckl

I saw that same visitor on the nest box Sat afternoon, too! I had just upgraded my phone service and we were testing the computer connection and speed. I figured the cams would be a great place to test this out, since I never had a continuous stream. Woo hoo....it is awesome to be able to watch the cams without starts and stops. Hoorah! :4turkey:
