Banding Day at the CoL! We have 2 girls. Here's the info (and videos) from Kate St John's blog:  UPDATE: The PA Game Commission has now determined that both are male, based on recent appearance. They were borderline sizes at banding, so they received female bands. They are male in the official documents. |

Thank you for posting the banding info, Antological! Good to hear that they're both healthy. The first one to be returned to the nest after banding was brave. With the trauma of banding, the chicks usually go to hide when returned to the nest, as did the second one! |

One Chick Under The Nest Kate St. John Blog It happens every year. At 28-35 days old, one of the Pitt peregrine chicks stumbles off the nest surface into the gully below. People watching the camera get worried. The chick is always fine. Today (5/16/2018) at 2:52p there was confusion on the nest surface as Hope brought in a dead red-winged blackbird for the afternoon snack. One of the chicks backed up to the edge of the box and lost his balance. Oops! He disappeared from view. |

thank you mwplay. that is the only reason I was worried, as Kate had said they would not feed it. I also wondered why not, as most peregrines will feed their young wherever they can good news hopefully the other one does not decide it is better down there |
