Thanks for changing the months, Reenie. Thought one chick was about to go out on the ledge in front of the scrape, but then it changed its mind. The great escape is probably coming soon. |

Didn't realize the second feeding was another Oriole. And another quick feeding ten minutes later. After that last feeding three chicks were flapping like crazy, while the fourth one flopped down to sleep. |

Didn't see it happen, but one of the chicks is outside of the scrape. And very easily got back. |

The big one closest to Niecey looks up now & then, & just seems to think "I wonder what she would do if I pulled her tail feathers"!

Nice to see how well fed these guys are and to see their pin feathers starting to show. Saw some wing flapping earlier.  They grow so fast, just like our kids.

NIECEY WAS ON THE POINT DEFEATHERING A PIGEON WHEN I TUNED IN THIS MORNING. SHE THEN FED THE KIDS AND LIL ONE WAS RIGHT UP FRONT AND CROP WAS FULL. AFTER NIECEY LEFT, LIL DAD CAME IN WITH SCRAPS AND WAS FEEDING SOME. HE'S STILL IN THERE NOW WITH JUST ABOUT BONES, HE CAN REALLY PICK THEM CLEAN! FOUND NIECEY IS ON THE POINT CLOSING HER EYES NOW AND THEN. I GUESS GETTING THE PIGEON, DEFEATHERING AND FEEDING MADE HER A BIT TIRED, BUT LIL DAD IS JUST LIKE AN ENERGIZER BUNNY AS OLD AS HE IS. HE'S BEEN IN THE SCRAPE A LONG TIME, I LOVE THAT NIECEY IS ALLOWING HIM :-) |

Must have just missed the feeding. Glad Niecey allowed Little Dad in the scrape. All chicks sacked out now in what some people call a food coma. |

Just got back from errands. Four sacked out chicks in the scrape and Niecey lying next to the stick in front of the scrape. Can't really see her very well, but it sure looks like she's panting. It is gorgeous here today, with temps in the mid 70s. Not humid. |

I could tell from Little Dad's actions on the point that he had his eye on something. He flew off, and two minutes later he returned and is now defeathering whatever it is that he caught. Chicks are watching intently. And by the time I entered this message, he was gone. Must have stashed that food somewhere. |

Feeding going on. The one was sitting to far away to get any so he moved over and next thing I knew he had a wing and tried to swallow the whole thing. Instead he spit it out and put his foot on it and started eating it. |

Just checked back in and he's still eating it. Rest are just sitting at the edge of the scrape. Don't know if they were out yet. |
