1.30 pm Breezy returned, went inside, then went up on roof
2.10 pm A falcon flew toward the box, Breezy looked threatening and it flew off
I caught a quick glimpse of her blue band, so I KNOW its our Breezy

One of the falcons foot *may* be hurt - lets keep an eye on it - her left

thanks SCB. that is exactly how I saw it, but was in hurry as had to go out.

if this is breezies first nesting, the male has to be the example. and as I said , whenever a threat presents itself, bonding happen right after. if resident is not there, then bonding happens between who is there. have seen it many times.

so hopefully this was a passerby , and got the message, no room at the inn

Congratulations on Breezy’s first egg!!! I hate to bring this up, but are the gnats back- flying around the nest.? I’ve seen a few land on Breezy- is that why she is not in the nestbox with her egg?

4 am She is NOT inside box
5 pm She is NOT keeping that egg warm, and temps have fallen below 32
She acts strangely
I am expecting her to lay a 2nd egg
Hope nature takes over

It was a cold night and Breezy perched outside.
I will be surprised if that egg is viable
2 pm She looked like she grunted out another egg but I dont see it
2.40 pm She may be asleep inside, with Brook waiting patiently perched outside
Im waiting too - but not patiently :)
3.20 pm I think there *may* be 2 eggs but too blurry to be sure
I do think there ARE 2 eggs

she was lying inside while male was outside, jsut as you said. .

I went back DVr and about 20 minutes ago. male seemed upset, as he looked up, tracked, and started chupping , and took off and then female came out chupping and chupped while she sat on lip. she seem scalm now

It is so cute how the male birds want to SEE the egg.
Now if Breezy will just take care of the eggs.
I'd think maybe Brook'd show her HOW

she was incubating and has now left.

male brought in food gift while she wa s there. she took gift out and he continued with incubation

1 - I know she's young
2 - taking food gift OUT is normal

But shouldnt instinct tell her to warm her eggs?
Good thing Brook is incubating, but its NOT normal for the male to be sole incubator.
