Thank you Terka!
I am thankful she has a mate.
I'd love to know if old Boh is ok but we may never find it

here is video of when new male was first seen. He appears older than one was at Mill creek. sassy and not skittish
will have to see how it plays out as he is in later than one was at mill creek and not all males are accepting of eggs and chicks although, he did not harm them when he was left alone with them. see if he brings a food gift.
every nest , every falcon different

Thank you so much
I truly appreciate your comments.
I wondered if he's older than 3

Its 6.30 pm there and she called him and he came and they are looking at each other

Update from Chesapeake Conservancy:

Chesapeake_Conservancy_Member • 10 hours ago
The drama continues on the 33rd floor! A new male is on the scene and there has been no sign of Boh for several days. We aren’t certain if the eggs are still viable. We’ve reached out to the USFWS for any more insight they might be able to provide.

I am not sure what problem is with them being viable. It is only day 33 for second last egg laid. and a few hours off eggs is O.k. if weather is not below C.
you should only be thinking of pip watch. But I would say later

Thanks bev
Thats eggsakly what I posted on Explore - the eggs are fine
A few there are nasty so I blocked them so dont see their nastiness.
Kids watch that cam. Bad for them to see.

I may not be able to tell males from females, but I can count.

BABY SITTING
April 27, 2019 Temp 50-70 windy
(or is that - pre-baby )

6.15 am She alerts and looks and calls and Nubo showed up,
- giving her proper deference, stays outside nestbox
He is adorable! Barb appreciates his companionship - well, maybe
Barb peeps but is NOT getting up, she needs a giant pigeon, hoping Nubo takes the hint
Is he willing to help raise another male's kids? Stay tuned
April is still mating season. Barb laid her first 3 eggs in April 2015 - her first year

6.25 Barb flies off leaving Nubo to guard
6.30 he hops into the nestbox - glances at eggs
6.35 Mom returns - he stayed the whole time! GOOD BOY!
I am so pleased to see this!
Now we wait for him to gift Barb a pigeon

7 am Barb is calling, and he comes back again
- is she testing him? PROBABLY! She's a great Mom!

He checks the eggs - probably hears them
Image

OK Mom where are you? "hohum:
Image

Right here! (10 minutes) :egg11:
Image

He even stays awhile after she's back

Thanks so much for the coverage here...I've been gone for several days and way behind.

Well, this is a real bummer. I hope our Boh is ok out there somewhere. He has always been so faithful and so present on the ledge!!

Hopefully, the eggs will be ok and if this new male does stick around, that he will be helpful, not hurtful, if they hatch. If not, then we'll have a repeat of the Millcreek situation, with one exception...Craig Koppel is usually involved with this nest and he is very protective of "his" baby falcons!! He might intervene like he has done in the past with Wilmington!!

April 27
7.45 am LOL! I see feet under the bridge! Way cute!
9.17 he is still out there - peeking under - curious?
- Barb is intent on eggs, they should be hatching this weekend
Some males at some nests love to help raise young, has Nubo raised young before?

10.11 am She calls & calls and Nubo comes running across the roof - lol

I wonder if Boh was sick and we didnt realize it.
All Barb's eggs have hatched in the past.

Chesapeake falcons history
2018 Laid 4 eggs fledged 4
2017 Laid 4 eggs fledged 4
2016 Laid 4 eggs fledged 3
2015 Laid 3 eggs fledged 3

thank Shep for reports.
this is good to know SGB. I know Gord has put out quail to help nests at our sites.
the way this male sticks around tells me this is not his first rodeo. We will see what he does with hatching's. I think the female is trying to get him to bring prey.
He is not on same page as her hormonally . so a wait and see.
sh e is out of egg laying stage.

bev, your a Godsend.
you confirm all my exact thoughts.
Barb has not moved - that I've seen - for a couple hours or more.
Leads me to think a hatch is in progress but all I've seen is eggs ..so ....
I LOVE :15heartbeat: how Nubo is staying so near!

Humans arent birds, but I'd think thats a comfort to Barb

btw ......
Barb is hockin up stuff (not hair balls lol) so she must be eating

:teehee:

there is so much we cannot see , so he may be hunting and storing . at11:54am- he is in again. At first I thought he scooted in with prey but not.

from watching male and her right now , I get the feeling something is out there. he was looking up to left and chatting. So things may not be over as far as site is concerned

12:38pm- mom was chupping and watching the sky above and to the left.

YES -
I saw Barb scold a day or 2 ago then take off WHOOSH to our left -
and another bird - I believe Nubo - hot on her tail
Those 2 may be warding off intruders.
