they all , or most, bring smaller prey at first. it is easier to move around the kid or kids. when bigger ones brought in they are usually drug over kids. this is why you will often see female leave with prey and then come back. if it is big, they will usually defeater and bring in smaller pieces. If you notice, I say usually , because,just as you think it is figured out, it changes :biggrin:

I thought he must be building a stash as she was never gone too long , when sh e left.

3:47pm . sh e just flew out that entrance. she was kaking first and looking to left and then flew out quickly.

I am really amused by the fact that he stays on the other side. she must have drawn a line
yup, has to be a stash. he came in , sh e went out and was back in a few minutes with prey.

I still think there is someone else still out there by her actions

and she is back for a feed

All he needs to do is hunt and guard and he is doing that

another feed coming in

I love the way the males always fly by or come in and bid goodnight before they tuck for the night. That was one of my first observations , that stuck with me, when I first started watching falcons many years ago. every nest site is different how they do it , but they do. some chatter back and forth . just wonderful. that is how I found where my falcons roost for the night.

here he is , flies to top of bridge and says good night

Such happy news!!! (though, I still miss Boh)!! Fingers crossed that all continues to go well here. Barb is such a unique falcon (in my personal opinion), that she strikes me as one who could do bodily harm to a male who doesn't do exactly what she wants!!!

4 am there is a spotlight, maybe escaped criminal. Glad he cant fly!

April 29, 2019 Temp 46-60
lovely day for 3 babies!
5.51 am Barb on eggs
6 am Barb calls and Nubo quickly lands on bridge and she gives him her breakfast order
Then he jumped off the bridge as if to say - as you wish, my Princess!
He's so adorable and hilarious I cant stand it! :15heartbeat:

6.30 am Barb lifts a bit, looks like still 2 eggs
6.45 am Barb left briefly, Nubo stood guard on roof

INTRUDER (unseen by cam)
10.20 am Barb begins YELLING, Nubo is right there, both looking up
Nubo takes off like a rocket after intruder and Barb goes to doorway and yells
WOW. What a great team they make!
Its a joy to see how protective Nubo is!

Boh really stays very nearby
perhaps due to intruder(s)
