Male was trying to hop back in the box--wings flapping etc. He's safe. :flirty:

If you look at the photos on the wild streaming page, you can see the platform outside the box. It does have a rim, so they will mostly hang out there as they prepare to fly. We used to have a cam that moved around, but this one is stationary.

The pics you posted HERE - I thot it'd be too high for fledgling to get back up -
but Male has no problem. :egg11: :egg11:

June 23 Sonday
7 am Girl leaned over the edge and hocked up
How'd you like to be driving when that fell on your windshield? :egg11:

Girl jumping and flapping all over, back n forth
She seems angry, screaming
I suspect she will make the jump today
She's ready

Terka, that pic is funny! :15heartbeat:

I am very new to peregrine falcons and this site. I have been watching this JRB box daily since early May. Since the banding last Wednesday, the female parent visited only once or twice. JJ the male has been the only food provider and has been infrequent, with none yesterday and once this morning. The male youngster is gone. Is there a professional organization monitoring this situation, such as the banding group?

Sorry if I am being an alarmist.

YES professionals are watching.

The male is on the platform just a foot or 2 below and can fly up n down.
Parents are bringing food there.
The Girl is left on cam - and she is offcam to both left and right.

Parents will feed less at fledg - to motivate their young

The male is not gone - he's there offcam

all is well

If the professionals have resources other than the camera from Wild Streaming to support the idea that there are still two offspring and they are being fed by two adults, then great. Otherwise, I have been watching for weeks and haven't seen the male chick since Friday evening. The female chick is not reacting to anything being on the platform as she did when he was there. I have seen no evidence of her leaving the box to go to the platform and return. She does vocally and physically react when the adults approach the box, so with playback, I feel confident that I haven't missed any events.

I hope that I am wrong in my assessment, but I don't think so.

Please advise.

stay safe,
nick

I believe that the female offspring has left the box and platform. No sight, no sound since 8:10 pm this evening. Hope that all is well and that she has joined her brother, parents, and they all have long lives.

stay safe,

Thanks for that info. I was late to get online and that was via phone that made searching for sight and sound difficult. Later, I got on via laptop and was able to catch a view of her thanks to your posting.
