Been watching when I could this morning, then backing up the video.

Throwing this out there.... these 2 seem to know each other. I'm wondering if this male was around when Grinnell was in rehab, or if Annie had met up with him when she has "disappeared" for a few days during this season. Just that they have experience with each other somehow - maybe just neighboring territories.

Also, this guy seems to be familiar with eggs, like he is experienced. Makes me wonder if he was driven from his own territory - which might accounts for leg injury. Or, he came on territory and during a dispute, led to Grinnell's untimely death.

According to CalFalconCam, this male is known to them. He has had the injury for a while. They are mating.

Yep. I think he's experienced or has excellent instincts.

We will still miss Grinnell, but there is hope for Annie and the eggs. Like mwplay said, some watchers have posted that Annie feels very comfortable around him and that may explain who Annie was around during her absences. She may even have met him during Grinnell's stay in the hospital. Stranger things have happened--remember Beauty and Dotca? I hope things settle down and nesting activities go on, without Grinnell unfortunately. :sorrow:

Yes we will miss Grinnell , that is for sure. Niecey carried on last year
Grinnell was one o f the greats. They do no t get much better, and my hope is that hi s eggs hatch .

thi s male has a sore left foot but cannot see swelling so hopefully , if he is successful here, he can rest it
just a tough one, here

They mentioned they had seen this male around the tower recently. Well, I think they thought he was a female. Here's a video from 3/29/22. Annie is eating next to box and he arrives. Watch for the noticeable limp. Also, the feet are exactly the same. This bird has dirt/mud on feet. I think this was the new male. And Annie makes no noise. So either A) there's no audio with this video, B) she doesn't see him, C) she knows him and is not threatened.

What do you think?

he did prey to ledge tonight. she left but did not claim it. He defeathered it. It seemed he wanted to take it to her but did not want to go down with it. He eventually left with it after eating some. This is great. and by the way she is not starving. He came back at one point today with full crop

I had to edit video for length, so watch times but here is video\
