What a rare story

Gloucestershire
South Coast Peregrine rearing Herring Gull chicks 2014
We arrived at the site, for a routine check on the breeding status of the resident pair. After briefly scanning the home cliff, I located the falcon. She was clearly brooding chicks, as I watched through the scope, my jaw dropped, as the head of the first baby Gull appeared. I turned to Steve, and relayed what i’d seen, he bundled me away from the eyepiece, and after a few seconds he too got his first glimpse. I’ve never heard Steve swear before, but he turned to me and simply uttered a couple of words that i couldn’t possibly repeat here. We watched for a couple of hours, after which we were forced to leave, to fulfil another appointment. We returned in the evening, with both Greg and his camera to capture the first video.

ODNR overseeing euthanasia of geese in Mill Creek Park today - See more at:
This is just terrible, I wish there was something that could be done maybe about the people that keep them coming back by feeding them. There was a suggestion to get dogs to chase them off that sounds like the best /humane thing to do

KITTEN, I THINK THERE ARE A WHOLE LOT OF PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT DON'T THINK THIS IS OKAY. MY OWN PERSONAL VIEWPOINT: I WILL BE FULFILLED WHEN MAN COMES TO THE REALIZATION THAT HE IS NO MORE SIGNIFICANT TO THE WORLD THAN PLANTLIFE OR WILDLIFE, ETC. THE REALIZATION WILL NOT COME IN MY LIFETIME AND WHEN IT DOES ... I AM AFRAID IT WILL BE TOO LATE ...

Genesis 9:6
God made man in his own image.

Man is more important than wildlife - but we are to be good stewards of earth and its wildlife.

The bird was tangled in fishing string, and unable to free itself.
It required bolt cutters to remove the string and hook caught in its talon.
Once down, the Officer attempted to let the bird fly, but it was unable to fly properly due to an apparent injury.

Osprey was taken to an avian care center in the next town over.

It should have had its eyes covered FIRST to calm it -
then its wings secured. It never shuda been let go til after checked over.
I did post that on the NJ blog

I googled and found no updates on this bird.

One other thing was the water thing, I have read in hundreds of places don't feed or water a downed animal.
I know they meant well but like I said someone should have been called right away.
The trowing it was nuts but if you don't know then......
Well lets hope it is alright.
They got it down thank goodness.
