skygirlblue wrote: Gosh...I had totally forgotten about the mouse wheel...thanks DEF...I think the reason I don't use that one as much is because I go crazy with the scroll wheel and before I know it, I'm up to 500%...its scary!! In FireFox there is a key combination to reset the default size : Ctrl+0 (zero), that will bring everything back to normal In IE7 you simply click on 100% in the drop-down menu at the bottom right of the window. |

catwoman, you can create the falcon button for any of your links by using the BBCode "click" which is right next to the "center" code. Yes, it was our very clever skygirlblue who gave us the falcon button for links. |

Guess you actually have to use a link. I just did & it worked! How clever! |

I totally didn't know about the control + or the mouse wheel. Last night, my 7 yr old niece was doing something on my computer and rolling that mouse wheel like crazy. Evidently, I'm way behind her on tech knowledge. I'm thinking about asking her to teach me some things. |

Here's a neat trick I just learned. If you have a PC and use IE 7, press the F11 key and see what happens! To access your address bar, search engine box, tabs, etc. just move your cursor to the top of your screen and it reappears. Pressing F11 returns your screen to its original state. |

I just tried it with my Mac and Firefox, and the F11 trick works there also . . . the only difference is that after clicking F11 to make the browser window virtually disappear, all I have to do to make it reappear in its original size is to click one of the thin bars (on the far left or the top of my screen)! Thanks Susan! |

Have any of you noticed that sometimes your smilie does not show up on a post, but instead just the words, like this:D To correct that, just edit your post and place a space before the colon. Voila, your smilie is now visible. |

Sometimes I get overwhelmed with the choice of font colors and am never really sure what color I'm getting when I click on a tiny box. So, I decided to make this list of codes with its corresponding color. I also bolded them so they'd be easier to see: Row 1: 000000.....000040.....000080.....0000BF.....0000FF Row 2: 004000.....004040.....004080.....0040BF.....0040FF Row 3: 008000.....008040.....008080.....0080BF.....0080FF Row 4: 00BF00.....00BF40.....00BF80.....00BFBF.....00BFFF Row 5: 00FF00.....00FF40.....00FF80.....00FFBF.....00FFFF Row 6: 400000.....400040.....400080.....4000BF.....4000FF Row 7: 404000.....404040.....404080.....4040BF.....4040FF Row 8: 408000.....408040.....408080.....4080BF.....4080FF Row 9: 40BF00.....40BF40.....40BF80.....40BFBF.....40BFFF Row10: 40FF00.....40FF40.....40FF80.....40FFBF.....40FFFF Row11: 800000.....800040.....800080.....8000BF.....8000FF Row12: 804000.....804040.....804080.....8040BF.....8040FF Row13: 808000.....808040.....808080.....8080BF.....8080FF Row14: 80BF00.....80BF40.....80BF80.....80BFBF.....80BFFF Row15: 80FF00.....80FF40.....80FF80.....80FFBF.....80FFFF Row16: BF0000.....BF0040.....BF0080.....BF00BF.....BF00FF Row17: BF4000.....BF4040.....BF4080.....BF40BF.....BF40FF Row18: BF8000.....BF8040.....BF8080.....BF80BF.....BF80FF Row19: BFBF00.....BFBF40.....BFBF80.....BFBFBF.....BFBFFF Row20: BFFF00.....BFFF40.....BFFF80.....BFFFBF.....BFFFFF Row21: FF0000.....FF0040.....FF0080.....FF00BF.....FF00FF Row22: FF4000.....FF4040.....FF4080.....FF40BF.....FF40FF Row23: FF8000.....FF8040.....FF8080.....FF80BF.....FF80FF Row24: FFBF00.....FFBF40.....FFBF80.....FFBFBF.....FFBFFF Row25: FFFF00.....FFFF40.....FFFF80.....FFFFBF.....FFFFFF |

WOW - SusanE - that is incredible So we can just type in the code for a particular color instead of clicking on the little box for it So once we have memorised what our favorite color codes are that should be a quick & handy way to color our posts - I get it (I think ) Well, I think I need more tips as to how to use the codes - I just tried typing [color=0080BF] but it didn't work out that way - |

Pru, you will still need to have the beginning code and the ending code around your text, but if you don't like the color that you've clicked on, you can simply edit the code number to the one you like. |

You also have to type the closing tag [/color] Code: [color=#800080] This is the opening tag and after the text you see the closing tag [/color] With all these extra colors you can make a nice coloured text with gradients: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ Click on "QUOTE" to see how I did it. When you put your mouse on the little color blocks the number for that color should show, and don't forget the number is ALWAYS preceded by # |

I didn't include the "#" - yippee, now it will work - thanks for this DEF & SusanE |

Thanks Dutch Eagle Fan for explaining these color codes better than I did. I also learned how to get the code to show rather than activate and disappear. |
