Joanne, the Online (or Offline) buttons indicate whether a user is logged on or not at the present time. Sorry, I believe the size of your name is fixed; same for everybody.

That is correct, Susan...and yes, the size of our names is fixed...I could probably change that, but will have to research it first...

Is online chat possible in this new forum? If so, maybe we could open a live chat session for a few hours occasionally. Might be fun.

When everyone (namely SGB) has had a chance to rest, I think it would be good to have a "tips" section relating to things that would be helpful in posting to the forum. I just saw some nice tips in the "problems" area relating to sizing avatars, marking posts read, and Beth gave me a good tip about getting an appropriate sized capture from PB to post. Maybe this could be an "Over the Fence" topic where members who have tips they think others would find helpful could post those tips, & if someone is having trouble getting something to work or thinks there is a better way of doing something, they could ask the question & maybe someone has the answer!

Actually, I guess I could start the topic under "Over the Fence" if others think its a good idea!

I do have a request/favor to ask of everyone...I love seeing where you all are from...so, if you think of it, could everyone enter where they are from...you can do that in the "profile" section in your User Control Panel...

Thanks!!!

Hey! I just learned something new by reading these posts. I agree with the "tips" idea, but the questions and answers are good also. Thanks to all who HAVE the answers.

Can we have an Event's Section, or a Gathering Section where we can take trips together, and plan them out perhaps to the Shore, or a Park to do some Bird Watching, or just to spend time together, and maybe have a Picnic. Kind of like Getting To Know You Area. I think this would be fun. We could have Parties ex: Post Fledging when we are all down in the dumps, we can cheer each other up!

When you log out you have to log in again. Your browser however can remember the username and password you enter for a website. So, although you have to login again it shouldn't be a problem. I use FireFox and I only need to type the first letter of the username. FF than shows the right name and has the password filled in too.
I never log out of any forums, except my own. There I sometimes have to check what guests and/or normal users can and can not see.

You know, the names are really small. Everything else jumps out but the name of the person posting. Kinda have to look for it. Well I can't see that well sometimes anyway.

:gday Everyone :upwave:

I'm just trying to work something out & thought this thread could be the best place to start with it:

I thought it would be great to contact all the nests that PF-BCAW has watched this past season which named an eyas in honor of Froona with the suggestion to find the best pics possible of said chick & then contribute them to Froona's "In Living memory" website page.

I tried typing "froona" into a forum "search" but it came up with nothing - huhh! - what's up with that :help:

Sooooo, I will just have to rely on everyone remembering which nests had such a "Froona" eyas because I only watched a few northern hemisphere nests & I have already posted the idea on the Edmonton thread.

Any ideas/assistance greatly appreciated :thankyou

:hmmmm

Hi Pru...
The only other nest site with a 2009 Froona (I think) is :

INDIANAPOLIS, IN USA (INDY)~Kinney & Kathy-Q

I bet Gigi has a good banding pic of Indy-Froona :)
