Since this forum has so many USA peregrine nests, the USA cam links page has been updated so that the names of the nests are also hyperlinks to the nest topics. Give it a try! :sum9:

Is anyone else having trouble maneuvering around forum or coming in? Several times this week I have had trouble and it says "Resource limit is reached. Try again later." I have used different browsers and now I am in another county on work computer and same thing is happening. :girlsad3: Edit: Never mind, I just read "breaking news" about this issue. :teehee:

I received the following message

"Resource Limit Is Reached
The website is temporarily unable to service your request as it exceeded resource limit. Please try again later."

but now it seems to be okay....

OK...we appear to be stable for right now. Tech Support discovered that the "script/viewtopic.php" file was being overly accessed, which was zapping all the Forum allotted usage space to be used up...thus, it was hit/miss if you could log in. I have NO idea what any of this means or "who" or "what" accesses this area of the forum software (I'm asking that question now)

I have noticed a large number of "guests" perusing the forum this morning. I don't know if that has anything to do with our current issue. I have currently disabled the "guests" ability to "search" the forum. I'm not sure if this ability is related to our current issue or not.

If it turns out that a large number of "guests" is causing the issue, I may need to restrict their access to certain areas of the forum (if I can remember how to do that) This would be a bummer, since the ability to peruse the forum is how "guests" decide if they want to join...

Thanks skybluegirl! Actually, the overwhelming majority of the time I view as a guest many times day and night. I only sign in if I post. Maybe I should go back to the automatic sign in. You know, in the last couple of weeks or so I got a page from the right margin amongst other things that said ... you must show somewhere on page "powered by php" or they wouldn't support you or something like that. I did not purposely pull them up and the forum had minimized on the left. :girlcrazy:

If you could do that for a while, that would be great. I still don't know if "guests" is the problem..

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....I wonder if its because all the forums are new for 2016? I'll see if I can figure out what is going on. I personally am not signed up for any notifications. I'll go do that now to see if I receive emails...

I have found that if you have subscribed to a "topic" and then a new "topic" is created, you would have to subscribe to the new topic. However it you have subscribed to a "forum" [which is like the" boss" of the topic] then you will continue to receive notifications because the "boss" forum is still subscribed. Oh, I hope that makes sense.

Hierarchy is
Forum
Subforum
Topic [Always need to subscribe to new topics unless you are subscribed to either the subforum or forum it is under.]

If this is not correct SGB, let me know!

Brought this over because I was on the phone with a lady for over 15 minutes while I was trying to edit my last post.

gigi, I believe that is correct!! :snowflake2:

One thing I did notice is that if you subscribe to a "topic" and not the entire "forum", you may need to go back and make sure you are still subscribed to the "2016 topic"..

The good news is that I have been receiving emails every time this thread gets a new post!!

LOL...what? "php" is an open-sourced script...in other words, php is the tech language which tells the forum how to work. I'm not sure why you would get that message unless (for whatever reason) you have instructed your virus software (or other browsing software) not to allow php scripts without your permission. for example, anything running java script or quick time needs my permission before I will let it run.

No, I have not instructed it to do that. The page scooted in from the right side on me. It was a whole page of stuff. I was scrolling down the right side @ the time when BCAW suddenly minimized to the left screen and this scooted in from the right. With the language, I could tell it was the guts of this.I said "What the h is this?"

Right click anywhere on the forum. In the drop down menu, do you have either of the following: "View page source" or "view page info"?

If you do, then either of those options (especially the "view Page source") will show you all that php jargon. There are certain keys that will cause that page to pop up if you hit them by accident. I can't tell ya which ones they are, but I've had strange things pop up or open when either I or one of the cats hits or steps on the keyboard in just the perfect spot...LOL
