Beth, nice catch :D This cam is not easy  The nest is doing just great!!! The hatch dates are 6/16, 6/18, 6/21...first fledge date (approximately) 8/14...55 days :D Now, 6 weeks past fledging they will, any day now, start their migration. :cheer

Hope someone checks my dates :laugh2

Remember, the Northwest American osprey migrate to Southern Mexico and Central America, an easy trip as the osprey flies! This is why we follow those "tags"

Cape Coral
Question time
Will the osprey clean all this poo out or does someone go up in and do it for them and when do you think this one will see some action again?

Image
At least the camera is back on the nest more :D

Kitten :laugh :laugh2 :laugh You do have a way of getting right to the point.

The Cape Coral Ospreys should be back any time now...they will take care of their nest. You will, likely, first notice the "poo" getting flattened down, then they will add sticks and soon it will be an osprey nest again.

I can't speak for the cam issues...it is somewhat better...BUT not a good start for the season. Time will tell :|

Kitten, :mmd: It looks, to me, like the wind is just blowing in the opposite direction. I believe you will see the "poo" get flattened down first. Check out the Cape Coral topic on the old BCAW forum archives, you'll see what I mean (go to the late fall posts). :D

Ospreys in the Yellowstone River Valley

I was just reading an interesting article about the comeback of ospreys in the Yellowstone River Valley ( http://billingsgazette.com/news/local/a ... 002e0.html ). But what really got my interest was this stunning photo of a pair of ospreys in their spring mating ritual. Aren't they beautiful?
