There is a new camera set up in Rimouski, Quebec, here's the link :

They set up the box last year and it's the first time falcons are using it !

Thanks, Wizzz! I've added this link to the Canadian Cam Links page.

Yes it's cute that they painted bricks on it ! :-)
Apparently they have been incubating since April 19. Earlier today there was drama, the male has been seen leaving the nestbox with an egg and dropping it ! :egg14: I have trouble believing that ... anyways ! they had two eggs and now only one....

Rimouski, Quebec: Yes, this is hard to believe about the male taking an egg from a nest. Maybe he sensed the egg was not viable and wanted to take care of things. Thanks for keeping us posted on this nest, Wizzz.

Oh carly I am so sorry but the good is there is still the one egg, and with them being so new tobrooding this could be for the best let them learn to be good parents with just one so they can go on and have alot more later.

I just read that on their FAcebook page (I still get a chuckle when I get these posts on Facebook)...so very sad...lets hope they are very successful with this last egg..Its just great to read that they are still defending their home and taking care...

I wonder how it was lost? Probably an accidental kick? Heaven knows I remember watching Durand at the very beginning...I'm sure if that box hadn't been on the lower ledge, that some of her new eggs could have taken a tumble..

Wooohooooooooooooooooooooooo...it's MILTON!!!!

Brampton Territorial Male Identified
April 30, 2011 - International, National and Local News
Tracy Simpson Reports:

Bruce Massey was on-site today and was able to make a positive identification of the male. It is the bird known as Milton that was hatched at the Gulf Tower in Pittsburg in 2002. This male and his young mate, Truss from the Burlington Lift Bridge in 2009, are still holding the territory but their status as a nesting pair is still in question. While copulation was witnessed by Bruce last week, the adults are being seen off of the ledge at the same time most often. There was a period today where both birds entered the ledge and “discussed the situation” but it is apparent that incubation is not underway at this time. With the change over of the female from an unbanded one reported earlier to now being Truss has certainly disrupted cycles and timing at this potentially new site. We will continue to monitor and update as we follow the pair this season.

Yes!!! I'm so excited, Mathew must be beside himself!! He sent me an email already...!! The new territory is not far from his old - that's why we suspected he might be there!! Woohooo..he's alive and well!!!

I am sad not to Wind but it is always nice to see grandchildren or children of sites we have all been familiar with.

Wind was dear to my heart.
I wonder where she is.

I am happy for Ranger and Hunter and wish them success at this nest, but I hope that Wind is okay somewhere with a nest of her own.
