I tried looking back, but couldn't find the answer...How do they open the gate? Is that a bottle with ice in it against something that's holding the gate closed?

ITs really quite genius...ice melts, water pours out, bottle drops, releasing the bungee, which in turns pulls the gate open...(hope I got that right..)

Ha, Ha! The way it opens is Ray's secret. It does open slowly, but not quite the way we might think. The weight is on the door side.

She still seems to have a lot of down. Hope she is OK. What did you end up naming her? Ginger for Virginia?

We haven't named her yet (how horrible is that)...came up with a few more possibilities on the previous page....but we gotta name her before she flies out the door...

When I was there a couple of years ago, two different groups had named the birds. The local Audubon group was watching and Barb and BCAW. Doesn't matter. The bird knows who she is. That's what I was told about a couple of the Rochester birds where it was hard to determine the sex.
