I turned up sound(my dogs started barking :sunsmile:

), and IMHO not alarm calls. As carly said, they have different calls for different things. When one is in box they have one to let it know they are leaving for the night etc. She might have been saying , get ready, here I come :sunsmile:

WOW....I've been gone all day....so thanks so much for the descriptions and for your video, Mick!!! I don't think I've heard Durand make that rapid/staccato yak yak yak before in combination with her other vocalizations...so very interesting...must be love!! :smilegirl:

I also thought it was so cute that Matrix appeared to invite her into the nestbox 3 times, and as soon as she got in there, he made a bee line for the door...

I cannot wait for the nest cam to be fixed so that we can see what they do inside!!!

I agree, awesome coverage today by mwplay and Mick. I haven't been able to watch here as closely as I'd like lately so your reports and videos are priceless to me. :flirty:

The vocalization by Durand today were so interesting and unusual to me, so I appreciate hearing carly's comments.

Matrix is currently on the ledge...he landed, went straight to the box, fooled around in there for a few minutes, then returned to the ledge...

Both landed, one on each ledge. Durand is vocalizing. One leaves, fly by and now Durand has left.

Matrix just left and I think Durand is in the box still.

Both in the box- for 30 seconds!! Then Matrix flew off and Durand ran to the edge, looking out after him.

Something just had Durand very upset. She's been perched on top of nest box. She jumped down, came to the ledge and alarm called for about 30 seconds. She's calm now. Sitting on ledge.

The way she jumped off the box and ran to the ledge, I thought it was more alarm calling/defensive vs "Hi handsome" like she did yesterday. After I watched the video of her yakyakyak-ing yesterday, I can see there was a difference between what she did yesterday and what is her "standard" alarm calling. Almost like her voice had a little trill to it yesterday (probably not using the right word).

Hoping today I'd open the cam and see the two of them interact more. I'm SO impatient...

What I do find interesting... Matrix was on the ledge this AM (early afternoon in ET). Then according to Mick's posts, Durand came in. It's like they are sharing the responsibility watching over their ledge/territory. Nice...

Matrix just joined Durand on the ledge. He hopped in the box...She's staying up top...

That lasted 6 minutes. (I'm assuming it was Durand on the top of the box)

Durand left first and Matrix followed.
