Thanks kittenface, it is a good name for him.

Here is another picture with 3 juvies I think at Wells Fargo.

The parent delivered food and one of the chicks grabbed it and ran down the ledge toward the camera.

Hi Everyone! This is Liz, I write the blog http://slcfalcons.blogspot.com where you can keep up with the young after they fledge in Salt Lake City! :eggwave:

I just wanted to pop in to let you know that I was down at Temple Square and took a couple of photos today. I have also added a Twitter feed to my blog so I can tweet out updates while I am down there. The volunteers are starting to hang out throughout the day waiting for the young to fledge. One of them looked very intent last night and we thought maybe it would fly this morning early so I got up at 5am and arrived at dawn. Three of them are looking a lot less downy this past 24 hours and we expect the first fledge to happen tomorrow or Wednesday morning.

Thanks!

Liz Schubert, Sandy, UT

p.s. I don't have the time to post photos here but you have my permission to take them from my blog and post them anytime.

Salt Lake

Liz, thank you so much for the update and the link to your blog. It's good to see the nest from another perspective. Looking forward to seeing more of your photos.

Hi there, I was downtown and standing down below the box when that adult made that quick drop earlier, although it appears that it wasn't a drop but a 'get back a bit, stop screwing around before you fall off unintentionally' sort of message, lol. :suntalk:

I wonder what kind of work is being done there I just heard what sounded like a jack hammer and then the chicks went nuts I can't get the cam up to see the outside just the birthing corner so I don't know maybe Lizzy will be able to shed some light on it
FINALLY got the cam up for a few seconds and saw the racket was due to FOOD of course I should have known that :hahah

The noise is due to a construction project, which of course, Bob Walters was not told was starting this week. They pulled up this morning and fenced off a major portion of the sidewalk and an area just east of the nest. They are ripping up concrete, maybe to upgrade a fountain display on the east side of that square. It is very inconvenient because we communicate with the falcon volunteers over radios and its impossible to hear now. They said the project will last a week to 10 days, ugg. And yes, when they started the hammers this morning the birds seemed a bit more aggitated, althought they will probably adjust. I am a little worried that on their early flights they could land over in that area.

Thanks for the info, Lizzy...I've had the cam up almost all day...I think the kids have adjusted better than I have..I bet it was really something to watch that fly up....it actually was a food drop (if we're talking about the same fly up)....the kids only played with it...and then a parent came back and got it!!! I thought I'd saved the video, but didn't..oops...but did get this fly up....probably wasn't a good idea to enter the box without food, this time...
