Cade working his way home. Here he is perched on a building across from the nest box. Cam switches to Beatrix in nest.

Carolyn, nice video, too. Is that Tracy operating the cam? Whoever it is, Good Job!

When I got to the McKenzie building this morning at 10:30am, Brooklyn and Hurricane were screeching and diving across the top of the lower roof. Obviously there was something or someone on the roof or they could see someone through the skylight. Hurricane was on the northeast corner of the roof and then went to the tower. Brooklyn perched on the roof above the old nest box and continued to screech. After about 20 minutes they both settled on the tower and were quiet.

They are renovating the inside of the building and there are skylights on the lower roof. The peregrines can see if someone walks around in the room below the roof and I know for a fact that the workers or any unauthorized people are not allowed on the roof. So, I think it was something they saw through the skylights. This pic (photosbydennis)is from banding day when they installed the new nest box and attached the camera. You can see the skylight in front of them

This is from last night, you can see how much room they have to practice. What you see is probably only half the area of the roof.

Thanks for the video, Carolyn....it really looks like they have plenty of room to play...can you imagine what they would be doing if they were still in the old box?

They are putting satellite transmitters on Rain and Rosser at the Brandon site. Here is a link to the thread about it in the Manitoba Falcon Cam Forum. I am not terribly enthused about it, but I am sure they will only do it, if it is safe to do so.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm....I'm not particularly happy about that!!! The transmitter always slowed down the Genesee male returning from migration and that's why Gord took it off this year!!!

Edit to add...I just finished reading the thread on the manitoba forum...I decided to keep my mouth shut. I'm sure there are pros and cons to transmitters..and I personally don't know how old the transmitter was that the Genesee male carried, all I know is the complications it caused with nesting the past two years, via our observations, and via posts by Bev...and by Gord, via Bev....That's why it was removed...and if I'm not mistaken, why Miss Edmontons was removed as well!!!

I don't think it was much of an issue with Quest because she didn't really migrate...she just hopped around the area for the past several years...
