Thanks Reenie. No one there now. It does look very foggy and wet. We are like that too. Thank goodness it rained though.

No one there right now. I hope they found some cooler spot, than on the ledge! It is unbearable today!

I love those early morning shots when the color is so vibrant and the light is so clear and crisp! Thanks for sharing, Reenie! I had hoped to get to Columbia for the afternoon either Thurs or Fri, but migraines kept me home. I hope the 2 juvies are doing fine without my attention.

Thank goodness the headache was better before this am - I was scheduled to set up the owl-banding program table at the Ned Smith Wildlife Festival in Millersburg today. I hope everyone local who had the chance made it out there - there were some phenomenal exhibits including a few live bird demonstrations. This is a bit off-topic, but the Ned Smith festival the last Saturday in July every year is one of the region's best kept secrets and deserves so much more attention than it gets. Today, the weather was absolutely ideal - cool, sunny and breezy.

Then when I got home, there was a hummingbird at my feeder - for the first time since I hung it after I moved to my new home this spring!!! Of course, I immediately washed and refilled it, since it's been empty for a few days, then spent the rest of the afternoon on the deck waiting for Mrs. Hummer to reappear. She did come back for a few more sips before the light failed and I got a few pictures, which I will probably post to facebook eventually - all in all, a most excellent day!

No one there right now. I may be too late in the morning to catch anyone.
Loved your stories Sue. Glad you are feeling better. I had the hummer feeder out , and kept changing the fluid, but no takers. But now with your story, I may put it back out. It was later in the season last year, that they showed up here. I read in Bird's And Bloom's Mag. that they have probably started to migrate now.

wwc, sorry to hear of your migraine pain. I feel your pain for sure. I finally peed and got off the pot and went to a migraine speicalist who upped my dose of immitrex from the 50mg to 100mg tablets and also put me on an anti seizure drug neurontin. Until recently i had been hit with wave after wave of severe migraines but after starting on the neurontin, ive only had two severe migraines in the past two months so i am very very happy now that ive found the neurologist

There is another advantage too for taking the neurontin as a diabetic. While ive been an insulin user for over 40 years and have no really nasty comps such as neuropathy in my feet and legs, the neurontin is often used to treat diabetic neuropathy so there may be an added hidden benefit to me being on it

personally, if given the choice between a migraine and a root canal without novacaine id opt for the root canal as i cant stand the sensitivity to sound and motion that i get with a migraine and the cursed nausea too is no fun as well

I'm so sorry about your migraine problems, Sue & George! Thankfully, I've never had one, but I know many people who have them & they sound really nasty. Glad this medication also helps your diabetes, George! :thumbegg:

I saw a hummingbird yesterday, too. It was hovering briefly in front of my picture window in the living room, then took off. By the time I got up & looked out the door for it, it was gone. I did see one a couple of days ago getting nectar from a plant on my patio table. I've never had any luck with putting feeders out.

No one around now. I have seen Hummers around our Impations. Not this year so far. In years past that is where I saw them the most. We have a lot of Impations in planters. I keep watching!

No one there at both views, but when I signed off earlier, someone was on the Cam.

Didn't have time to post this morning, but saw NG on the cam around 7 AM here, which would be 10:00 in PA. This afternoon while returning from Madera Canyon which is 25 miles or so from Tucson, I saw a Prairie Falcon. Luckily I noticed the car behind me stop or I would have missed it! Bummer about the migraines, Sue. Hope you're better.
