Wow, so I guess he's not spending much time helping Unity these days. What a saga this has become. Yikes!

WOW....such a shame, Not only for Beauty and Unity, but also for Archer. Its looking more and more like there will be no babies in Rochester this year..but, here's the other puzzling issue for me - what's wrong with the eggs (if anything). I've been consistently checking the archives everyday now since about the 12th. Regardless of who has been on them, they have been consistently incubated. (I haven't checked archives prior to the 12th). So, are they infertile? Did the embryos die early during incubation? They didn't have the best record last year either. (4 eggs, 2 hatches)

Well, it is what it is...I just hope no falcon ends up getting injured during all of this...Its just really sad to see all the falcons put this time and energy into a nest only to have them fail...not to mention all the very dedicated Rochester falcon watchers. They've got to be so disappointed... :cryinggirl:

That is also very sad about Reuben's mate being gone....has she been gone all season or just recently?

Thanks for the info Carly. A sad situation to be sure. I'm sorry Reuben is missing too.

We can't give up until Beauty gives up. Today is like 40-41 days. Miracles do happen...YES!

I am wondering i f the females were just under too much stress this season.

Let us hope they get their boundaries figured out and that another male comes to the fro fro Unity.(with no altercations that is.)
Yo are right Donna. Never say never. We have already learned this this year.

this is sad
but I was reading and saw the slideshow on the Rochester forum. I was a member of their blog but not forum.

So if this can be relayed to them.
when I stand on the roof of the Weber building in Edmonton I can see the clinical science building at the university. the falcons are aware of each other also. And our downtown falcon are very clsoe also. I think the difference here , is one male. And they seem to have worked out their territoiries. the juveniles are who invade the other spaces and get ushered out.

but Carly, are the two sites of your male at etobikoke in view of each other???

the idea of contaminants is a possibility. But I think Stress and uneasiness are more of a factor right now.

Hopefully they test those eggs.

I am going to download a report of all the findings on our eggs and read it over and see what they found in our area.

I sure hope the falocns can get this sorted out.

One of Archer and beauty's eggs has a crack in it, not a pip. It's going inward. This may be the 1st egg that was laid, 2nd was 8 days later. 43 days is a long time for incubation. Still praying one or both will hatch but as each day passes, it's not looking good.

Well let us subtract 43-8 and we have 33 days. So let us keep our fingers crossed for at least one.

CArly, Jack is more mature also right. Al sorts of speculation but they have to sort it out. there is room there for more than one falocn, that is for sure.

It isn't looking good at this point...but you never know...let's hope this is the first egg...

Report just in that Beauty and Archer just mated. Reclutch incoming or they're just reaffirming their bond...stay tuned.

OK...now that's exciting...I was so hoping for a report like that for Durand...but heck...we can't even get word of a male in the area!!!

Any word on Unity's nest?

Well reaffirming bond or bonding that is good.

My fingers are still crossed here.

Yes it does. So it was obviously a fertilized egg.

I had similar thoughts as well, but still hard for me to tell...I think its only a matter of time before the egg collapses and then we'll have a better idea of contents (if any). I'm surprised that neither Beauty or Archer have broken it apart, like we saw with the male at Red Deer...Thank goodness for the archived pics..
