No one there now, but the scrape looks very well maintained. It will be interesting to see if next spring they use that scrape.

hmm i wonder if cj and rg are sensitive to the changes in barometric pessure and get an inkling that there may be bad weather comming

OH I DEFINITELY THINK THE FALCONS KNOW WHEN A STORM IS COMING. I'VE SEEN THE WAY THEY ACT IN HARRISBURG, YOU CAN TELL THEY DO.

No falcons in sight when I checked a bit ago, but thought that scrape had a "fresh" look to it. Now, to get rid of some of those feathers in that box!

It was only 5:55 so there wasn't much light but I love the way he spreads his wings when he works on the scrape!

Looks like I missed CJ again this morning. Reenie and I spent a good part of this afternoon along the Susquehanna on the Wrightsville side, hoping to get a glimpse of the falcons on the 462 bridge. We watched an Osprey catch a fish and take it to some rocks to eat it. Countless Swallows of different kinds were soaring overhead constantly, as well as some beautiful butterflies. A little after 5:00 the adult female Peregrine was buzzing some Pigeons above some blue building there, but she didn't catch one. We thought she landed somewhere on the back side of the bridge and lost her. Had some fantastic wood-fired pizza at a restaurant with a lovely outdoor patio. While we were waiting for our table, the female must have snared a Pigeon, for we got to finally meet Meredith who had the female in her scope. After finishing our pizza, we were lucky enough to see Columbia's juvie Red Girl fly around and land in the perch tree near the nest spot on the bridge. She sat there for a LONG time, and many people from the restaurant enjoyed looks through our scopes. The adult female came in off the bridge (we think) and landed not too far from Red Girl. Wished we had seen the adult male as well, but it was an enjoyable day.

IT WAS AN AWESOME PLACE AND AWESOME WEATHER AND BESIDES THE FALCONS, I LOVED SEEING THE OTHER BIRDS, BUTTERFLIES AND MEETING MEREDITH AND SPENDING TIME WITH JANE. AN AWESOME DAY!!

I CAN NEVER CATCH ANYONE ON THE CAM ANYMORE. THANKS TO THOSE WHO DO. LOVE THAT PIC OF CJ WORKING ON THAT SCRAPE!

Thanks, Reenie! No, not as good as Kim's, but Kim is special that way. That's still a good picture, especially considering that it was taken through a scope. Beautiful falcon & beautiful bridge! :biggrin:
