Bev, I hope you are having a wonderful holiday.

Radisson at the nest yesterday; the little male came in for a momentary visit. I hope Radisson and this little male will both migrate successfully, and that in the spring, Radisson and her mate will be together again.

Here's a fairly lengthy article from today's Edmonton Journal about Gord Court and his 30+ years of working with Alberta peregrines: http://www.edmontonjournal.com/technology/Peregrine+falcons+claw+back+from+edge+extinction/5489427/story.html :thumbup

Wow, how interesting to read, although I guess I didn't keep up with the chicks so well after the cams went out because I didn't know about the poor little babies at Bell Tower, except for Tiny being relocated. :girlsad3:

I am so glad that there are people like Gord who play such an important role in helping our precious falcons.

Somebody back at the nest eating again.

Hi everyone.
I just got home Saturday evening and thank-you for all watching Edmonton and posting pictures. :girlluv: :girlluv:

Of course we checked Weber and the University before going home and I saw 2 adults at University Saturday evening on aerials on Windsor apartments and college plaza.

And Miss Edmonotn was on W on west side of Weber bundling and we saw a peregrine on a tower further north so it may have been the male.

I will be taking a gander tomorrow. Gordon released our adult male in southern Alberta on Thursday Sept 29. He was doing so well and he and another biologist flew him and then fattened him and felt he was good to go.
So I want to check to see if one of the adults is new male or if our male flew back here. Hopefully 2 are still there. The new male is not banded.
The males are usually gone by now but the weather was so nice while I was gone that hey may have decided to singer. Goodness knows they deserve some good weather .

I have more news to share but have to run.

Oh, Bev--we have babies at 2 nests in Australia with live cams! Just to catch you in case you decided you were going to try to get something done this evening! :laugh

I promised myself , I would wait til next week before I look at any cams except Edmonton.

Clinical

Due to babysitting I got there late last night but 2 were turned in. Peter and I are leaving shorty to see what we can see.

Weber

I only saw one on W on east side last night but Barb saw one on building and one flying around yesterday. One may have been saying goodbye. We will hit here also shortly.

My news
concerns WEber. our yellow banded young male from Weber was trapped by a falcon bander in Iowa city, Iowa, mid Sept. He was a bit underweight and so they kept him for a few days and fattened him up and released him. I think this is great news as we know he made it this far . And now he is on his way further. He made it there quite quickly. I will have to look back and see my last sighting of him.
It is good to know that there are people out there watching and making sure all falcons are O.K.

I wanted to wait till I checked with Gord , for permission to release info before I posted it.

In the next few days I will post a picture Gord sent me of our mature adult male at clinical . He looks great.
