Bird Cams Around the World

I have wanted to think that Lil' Dad is still on vacation and that NG is trying to bond with the new falcon because she doesn't know that Lil' dad is coming back and she would want to have a mate in time. But Reenie saw Lil' Dad for sure right before the new falcon was seen, so he had come back from his vacation. The smaller one Jane and Sue saw in the fight could have been a previous Harrisburg juvie or any other falcon, or Lil' Dad. I would think that Lil' Dad would put up quite a fight, but I'm not sure if the male would fight to the death or just move on if they saw that their chances didn't look good. I can't think of a situation where the male went missing from a nest where they lost a battle only to be discovered at another nest later. Wait a minute, there was that nest at that residential complex in Canada where I think the original male was beat up by Jack and he showed up later somewhere didn't he? I can't remember how that went now. I worry about NG bonding with this other male not because I think she is two-timing, but because she may know something is wrong with Lil' Dad.

Ljames, yes, Milton did lose his territory to Jack & last year was reported to be at another site with a new territory. I also don't know if tiercels normally fight to the death. That is hopefully only falcons. (Not that I like to see falcons fight to the death, but its better than having both falcons & tiercels fight to the death.) A couple of years ago when Lil Dad migrated, he came back for a couple of short periods before he actually came back for nesting season, so even though Reenie saw him not too long ago, he still may have left before this NB showed up.

Another possibility is that this NB is from a nesting territory near here & maybe he has lost his mate? We do know there are at least a couple of nesting territories near here--at the I-81 bridge and at TMI. But then, it doesn't seem to me that he's showing a lot of interest in NG. He seems more interested in the ledge...these birds are going to drive us to drink!

Disgusting about all the Crows. In years past they fired off blanks or something over around the Capitol to scare them out of the area. I guess there's no money for "Crow Control" in the state budget this year. When I was down there last Thursday, the sidewalk by the bus stops across from the Carson Building was white with poop. Kudos to NG for clearing them out, but they'll probably be back tonight.

All last winter I walked under a "crow tree" on my way in each morning, and it is pretty gross. They aren't there this year, so I guess you have them, Reenie!

It does seems strange that NB is back at the ledge--why is he here if he is not interested in NG? Perhaps it is a stopover on his way back home --he stopped here on his travels outbound, and now he may be stopping over again on his way back inbound to his own home territory.

Nobody would ever believe it if we tried to tell them how interesting life gets, watching what goes on up there on that ledge!

Boy that point is covered in feathers. Looks like a couple of different leftovers. Wonder if NB is bringing gifts to NG. I see the camera has changed.

Thanks for that info on Milton. I always felt so sorry for him but he has moved on with a new mate and producing young peregrines.

Yes I like the idea that Lil' Dad left again and will return to his ledge to defeat the intruder and win his NG's heart again.

hmm i was wondering if NB may be an offspring of yellow boy who has taken up residence in reading pa? its not that far away as the falcon flies

Whenever I see the point view from the cam, I think of Reenie standing on the roof of the parking garage across the street to get her picture taken with Lil Dad!
