Boy I was just reading the comments and those people can be very brutal with each other there
and gigi I really don't know how you stayed so calm with your replies I wanted to just scream on some of the things they said.

KItten, the worst here were actually some of the nicer comments I have seen. Forums and blogs offer such anonymity that some think they can make terribly unkind, ignorant comments - and no one knows. I take pride in that I live my life with a sense of civility. I may not always do the right thing, but I do it with compassion for my fellow being.

I am so sorry to hear about Kinney ! My sympathies to all of you who have been touched by his life.
If there is a falcon heaven, maybe the Three are doing group flights.

I was truly heartbroken to hear about Kinney! The picture that you posted, SGB of Kathy Q was so telling - the remaining spouse waiting for her true love to return. Even though death is apart of life it is very hard to deal with especially for those left behind. I feel so badly for the forum members who watched Kinney every day, I am truly sorry for your loss. Hugs for all of us and if I could hug Kathy Q, I would. Thank you Kinney for being the faithful spouse, father and provider for your families - you are deeply missed.

I am not sure what a falcon "feels", but being there must give her a sense of safety and security. And it may also lead a potential mate to her...

I really hope that all the supposed experts are right when it comes to falcons not having emotions like us humans
cuz I hate to think that she is mourning her lose, and as much as I don't want to think that we will never see dear Kinney again I do hope she finds a new mate worthy of her

From Laura - she alerted us to a letter to the editor published in the Indy Star:

"I saw this in the print paper (Indianapolis Star) this morning (it also has a picture of Kinney) and wanted to share this with you. I've communicated with Dan before (alot about Zephyr as he is not far from the South Bend nest and followed them faithfully) - he is passionate about the falcons. Thought you all might want to read his tribute."
