I think 19/B is Matrix, who showed up as a sub-adult in Columbus last year (2011) after Durand's failed clutch and Flyboy's disappearance. Cams were down over the winter, so we did not know how their courtship proceeded. Many had hopes Matrix would return this year (2012), but that didn't happen.

All hoped he just moved on and nothing "bad" happened to him. He comes from strong parents, but I can't remember who right now.

We would love to have him or any strong male here!! It is always especially exciting when there is a strong connection to another nest.

Equally, it would be something special to have an offspring of Zephyr/Guinevere or (and this is going way back) an offspring of Roosevelt and Freedom!!!

Or. . like what happened at James River, an offspring of Kathy and Kinney (Not my first choice, since I have a hard time with that concept :sum8:

) but, wouldn't that be something!!!

Just wishful thinking from his fans kitten and he does have red/black bands like Matrix. I did a compare of Matrix's old photos and even though he was only 1 when we last saw him - the markings showed promise..of course I'm biased cause I wanted to see it.

I think we'd be happy to know he was alive and well given we don't know what happened to him once that unbanded male came back to Columbus. You always hope for the best but you can't help but worry when they vanish like that.

Carly, thanks for posting his info...I too, had looked back at his subadult pics, and the markings ARE similar...But it's a one in a thousand chance...
BTW...The heart shaped white in the new males' malar is just like Moxie's...(lil sister of Matrix)
You, (Carly) know how much I've been hoping to locate him... :sigh

I had the recorder on the cam almost all day. KathyQ was there a lot. . and I know he must have been there (outta cam view) on several occasions~just based on her behavior (or my wishful thinking)

...and I'm with you, DEF. .I'd love one of those feathers from the box. .
