The camera appears to be down but I haven't been able to reach Libby.

Sorry for not getting back on Renetta. There was supposed to be a press release, but this is the busy season for the biologists. Dr. Dave's necropsy showed a prolapsed uterus, which appears to be what happens when a bird is egg bound. When the Wildlife Center does a necropsy, they dispose of the bodies at the facility, so she will not be returned. Unlike eagles, there are no formal procedures for falcons that I know of.

thanks Barb.

not that I know everything, but when I mentioned that , it was becsue of the bit of blood at her bottom area.

And I remembered a few years ago, Gord thought that may be happening with one our falcons but luckily she laid the egg. So I knew possible .
so sad , but at least we know.
Rest in peace Renatta. You are missed :sorrow:

yes, I had cam this morning. but saw nothing

I've noticed the sleekness in most of the peregrines we watch. They look sleeker when it gets warm & they don't have to fluff up their feathers to keep warm.

Thanks for the news about Renetta, Barb. After hearing her cause of death, we're going to be even more concerned when its taking a falcon a good bit of time to lay an egg (like Beauty). Yes, we miss Renetta, but I'm sure not nearly as much as Mitchell does.

then 00/AD arrived

and they just sort of stood there..

Eventually, Mitchell took off, but looped around

Mitchell then took off and she was standing there as the cam went off line

She obviously is still able to eat even though there is a problem with her jaw. That's great news!
