I am so happy for this site. WE move on but do not forget :loveshow: :loveshow:

and I guess what makes it easier is knowing that Renetta did not lose her site by a fight.

first female, Renetta 2

The brood patch he's been wearing for 2 months in FINALLY coming in handy :girlluv: He is so adorable. Not too many males jump in that fast. I don't think she ever laid down.

Okay, I did a little research on Mockhorn island.
In 1902 Nicholas Cobb jr. sold it to Lewis Arthur Cushman. (This family was in the bakery business).

It is very true that it is a bit eazier to move on knowing that she did not kill the beautifull Renetta.
I like the idea of keeping the Renetta name and adding II, III,etc. I also like the idea of honoring
a person that helps VA falcons alot and add the netta part of the name.I just hope that people do not forget Renetta.

That is very impressive Ingrid....wow!! Well that certainly gives us something to consider. Thanks for doing the background on this, I wouldn't even know where to look.

I'm glad about the egg for Mitchell's sake & I guess for the female's as well. It may work out fine, but since I mentioned that I'm concerned about the female being able to feed chicks, I wanted to mention that I gave it some more thought & decided that if that is a problem, I'm sure Mitchell will do the feeding. Renetta let him participate in raising chicks much more than most tiercels are allowed by their mates to participate, so I'm sure he's up to the task.

Thanks for the info about Mockhorn Island's history, DEF! I saw several names that could be used for this female. I like the name Maggie (instead of Margaret), but I'm not sure it really sounds like a falcon name. Kathy is also nice, but again, I don't know that it sounds like a falcon name.

Glad you're the first person to see the egg, SGB, since you have probably suffered the loss of Renetta more than any of us.

DEF...wow...great research...and there are a few names that are possibilities!!!

Catwoman, the beak issue has definitely crossed my mind!! She can't really close it, but can she close it enough to break off small enough pieces and feed?

Mitchell is such a plus here and so active with the kids!! If she'll just let him be in charge, all should be good...but, gotta hope for chicks first!!
