I've been trying to find out whether the chick is OK or not, but there haven't even been any posts in the Pittsburgh FB group.

The way Dorothy is squirming around makes me wonder if she's trying to help another egg hatch.

I'm watching her now...and I just don't understand what she is doing this year...there is a chick near her right foot, a squirming chick beside her left wing

That's what I'm seeing, too, SGB. I've seen 2 live chicks, so I don't know if there's been another hatch or whether the one the other day was alive. I'm not seeing any posts of concern in the Pittsburgh group or on Kate's page about one not making it.

She's not aware that this one on the left has crawled off. Actually, now its way off to the side.

There is a spot on the one egg by the chick's beak. Wonder if its a pip.

I thought she fed the one on the left when she first started, then turned to the one on the right & probably forgot about the other one. Not sure though.

Yeah, I still have it open. Also opened the still cam so I could get a better look at the eggs.

Now both chicks are uncovered, but I guess that's OK since the sun is shining. :girlcrazy:

No..she didn't feed it first..

First vid is the baby "crawling" away...somewhat distorted..

2nd vid is before the feed starts.

Aha! Now I'm thinking the chirping is coming from an egg cause it was quiet for a while, then the chirping started & Dorthy shimmied!

I think I'll post these on their FB page...I don't if anything can be done. The parents' must sense that something is wrong with it...

When dad landed, I thought good, he'll bring it over with the other one...but, nope...

Guess what I saw was her eating. I thought she moved the prey between the 2 so she could get to both.

Well, the poor little thing is still out in front of her. I just don't know what happened. DEF seemed to get good feed pics yesterday...
