Either CJ continues to be a contributing member of the family off camera, or Red Girl is making ends meet as a single mom.

I'm really hoping he's still a contributing member of the family.

I hope CJ is in the picture. Don't see him though, lately. :girlsad3: RG is doing a fine job. Thanks Kim for the precious picture and for your input about everything. Hi! Greybird! Nice to see you here.

Thanks for the report on the 4th chick, Kim, and to all for the pictures and posts. If I lived closer to Wilmington I'd be up on that garage roof to see what's going on. Since the chicks hatched in Harrisburg, we don't see Lil Dad on the cam very often, but we know he's there. Hopefully the same is true for CJ.

Just getting around to posting these pictures from the second breakfast that I saw this morning. (I was hoping it was CJ doing the feeding, but I believe it's Red Girl.)

Thanks for the great captures everyone & the report on the little one, Kim. Saw a report on the Pittsburgh FB page that this chick was taken out of the nest because it wasn't eating, & what I understood was that he wasn't being fed. Big difference to me & if he wasn't eating, I'm 100% behind him being removed. I know the people who watch this nest will understand that I found it hard to believe that Red Girl & CJ weren't feeding one of their chicks! Sounds like the baby had some physical problems that his parents wouldn't have been able to help him with.

I'm sorry to hear that there is concern for CJ's safety. I hope its just a matter of him being away from the nest because he's so busy keeping up with his hungry chicks! Losing him would be a huge loss! :girlsad3: I'll keep this cam up today to see if I can spot him.

Red Girl in the nest apparently just checking on the chicks.

Please tell me this is CJ. Don't see a red band although it could be distance-related (although I can see the red band in Catbird's 7:10 capture). Markings look the same as in Catbird's pics, but with no red band & the size relationship with the chicks, I'm hoping this is CJ.

I was watching then too, Nancy. My thoughts were that it was CJ.

Both Mystic and SW are doing the feeds...Like Maurice and Boomer....CJ is most likely burning up the town hunting for his little ones!! :woohoo:

It looks like him in Catwomans pic...

Well, I assume either Greg or Kim will chime in when they see Nancy's pictures. A little while ago our Little Dad was in the scrape in Harrisburg feeding the chicks, but our Niecey hasn't allowed him in there very much since becoming a mother.

Good work, great catch. I'm almost certain that it is CJ. In all the pictures he looks smaller than Red Girl in Catbird's photos earlier today, even though he is closer to the camera in the box. In the photo I have repeated his head is darker than his body (something I've noticed on CJ more than Red Girl), and his head looks proportionately larger relative to his body than the same comparison on Red Girl. Excellent!

Thanks, Greg. I was about to post earlier that I thought CJ had been in the box, and by then Nancy had already posted those great pictures.

Looks like CJ to me. He seems to like to come into the nest box, look at the kids for a while and then leave. LOL

WOW! Such GREAT NEWS! I was trying to figure about me going down there, but I'm a little nervous about being alone there. What I read in the papers doesn't make one warm and fuzzy! Just so happy that he has shown up and so thankful for the pictures taken Ethel. Thanks Kim and Greg for your expert eyes on the matter.

Nancy thanks for your watchful eyes today! We do worry about these beautiful creatures and they can either make your day or break it.

Thanks from me too, Nancy, for catching CJ feeding the chicks. And thanks to Greg and Kim for confirming that it was CJ.

That definitely made my day! I can rest easier now knowing that he's around and acting as a helpmate to RG.
