Well this isn't looking good here there were 4 eggs laid there are 3 now, there are what appears to be shells, but I just saw something that I'm think might have been, well parent eating the chick I have it on video but I don't know if I should post it

I hear ya kittenface. I wasn't sure what I was seeing either. The parent was definitely eating it, chick or eggshell, I don't know. I just watched a nest exchange and I didn't see a chick.

I wonder what the heck happened??? maybe a failed hatch or a collapsed egg with a deceased chick in the egg? gosh...very sad...Sounds like what happened at Heidelberg!!!

I have never seen anything like that, and if I read about it I just can't fathom it or watch it.
I didn't even realize what I was seeing/recording til I look at the video.

What I thought I saw was her picking up the eggshell, several times and eating it. But I kept thinking that when she put it down, it moved. Then I thought, well maybe the wind is blowing it. Guess not, huh?

I don't really know SGB I am hoping it wasn't I have video but I can't watch it again, it did seen to me that it was real limp. But like I said I just don't know

Well, all I can think of is that something must have been very wrong...now let's just hope these other 3 eggs hatch ok!!!

Ya know, there are some nests that are doing so well..and then there are others with unhatched eggs or late hatches, etc. It will be interesting to see how the remainder of these nests fair...

Well, shoot! I was going to post it for you DEF, but I see that I don't have it either. (Didn't get moved from old computer.) Then (as you probably did), I went to the cam page to get it & it wasn't there either! I'll PM SGB & let her know. :eggthumbup:
