DON'T KNOW THEM APART, BUT ONE WAS JUST OUTSIDE WITH FOOD. THE ONE INSIDE DIDN'T GO GET IT, SO IT FLEW OFF WITH IT :-(

Still just one hatch this morning. I'd be perfectly happy if the other eggs didn't hatch, it would make it easier for Durand :wink:

Spark is now standing over his baby and I saw Durand do her D-dive. Did he bring food or is she out for a hunt???

Chick looks strong, begging for food, Spark did touch beaks. Eagerly awaiting the return of Durand with food I guess.

OMG! YESTERDAY SHE GIVES THE CHICK THE WHOLE BIRD NOW SHE'S STANDING FAR AWAY WANTING THE CHICK TO COME TO HER AND THEN SHE JUST EATS EVERY PIECE!

MAYBE 2 BITES IF THAT. JUST WHEN SHE GOT THE HANG OF IT TO TILT HER HEAD TO GET IT IN, SHE LEFT WITH THE FOOD! WISH SHE WOULD QUIT PECKING AT IT'S FACE AND BEAK SO MUCH TOO.

Thanks so much for the early coverage...I am so glad to see Spark with the baby..and excited to see that there was such an early feed. I would like at least 1 more egg to hatch, but will be very happy with one, healthy chick and 2 doting parents.

Thanks for the vids, anniet...it did look like the baby got a few bites...I know that early on the bites need to be really small, but these are REALLY small..Hopefully, as the day progresses, Durand will get better at this. Its already a huge difference from yesterdays "plop the prey" in front of the baby in hopes it would feed itself..

I don't see any pips in any of those eggs..

I am glad to see the feeding is getting better! Their practice sure seems to be paying off! Haven't heard anything from the eggs or seen any pips, but I will be certain to be on the lookout! But after two unsuccessful clutches, I am just thrilled that Durand finally has a little one and a very attentive tiercel!
