Blog news from Aylesbury :))
Ringing info (last week)...
The weight of the bird was recorded at 463g, nearly half the weight of an adult. Looking at his moult I could clearly see that he was in pin, a stage of where the feathers are just starting to protrude out of the sheath. Finally the chick was sexed by size and measurement and recorded a male...LC is what they are calling him :flirty:

The webpage says there is only one chick here and she is taking good care of it.
Coldstone

This is Lincoln

First chick comes out while others are being fed, balances on that slanted part, then jumps up on another level and keeps going out of view. Then second chick comes out but decides to turn around and go back, Oh and one is the parent.

One little chick seemed anxious to get out of the way of the one flapping, managing to stampede over the 3rd chick.

What you can't see is that there is one on the left perch, out of cam view..

Juvie out exploring around.

Image

2nd juvie comes back to the nest but tries to see another way in other than jumping/flying over that gap.

They both see mom coming in with prey.

They were so sweet sharing their meal.

I'm not sure but I though that I could hear the 3rd juvie but he didn't come to eat. It's hard to be sure who is crying as they sometimes cry even with their beaks closed.

They did seem to be looking over to the other side numerous times.

The first shot shows two juvies looking up at their sister who must have been on a perch of some kind up there. In the second picture, the 3rd juvie just landed and moved to the left.
You can just see all 3 in the 3rd.

Only saw one in the nest today, but they were really putting on a nice show of wings.

Having a good time playing with leftovers and such.

All 3 there when Mom brings in prey. One jumps to get it and goes out of view. It looked like Mom went and got the prey and gave it to one of the other juvies. One didn't get any at all, but I think it was full enough.

Catch the world’s fastest on their new perch

Peregrine Falcons have a new nesting platform on the side of the county council tower in Aylesbury.

The fastest members of the animal kingdom, with a 200mph swoop, are expected to breed in the undisturbed location over the winter.

On the old platform earlier this year, two young falcons were successfully reared.

Chairman of Bucks Bird Club John Gearing said: “The best place to view the birds from is the cinema car park with a telescope.”
