Well, here we go..they are on the move...I also think there is a lower ledge that we can't see...I don't think its that far below as I think I can remember an adult sitting and just seeing his/her head...OR..I'm totally confused and that's another nest..

Good luck, cam operator!!! HEE HEE

That may be the Manchester nest you're thinking of. I haven't seen this view from this nest before, but I see that it is near a river. Don't like seeing that chick on the outer ledge this early! :nervous:

Thanks for the great pics everybody, & thanks to the cam operator for following these chicks!

That last picture confused me ljames cause the one leg in there looked like an adult's leg, but what I thought was its head was a juvie! Then I realized that the adult was bent down getting food & the juvie was on the other side of the adult! :laugh2 Had me goin' there for a bit!

So all got back in the box for bedtime & the cam was turned around--very nice!

SGB, I think you're right about another ledge down there cause when I looked at the captures again, I remembered Roosevelt standing down there before.

Laura received this in an email regarding all of the Indiana Falcons:

"Freedom (b/r U/*8; female hacked in Evansville, 1994) found dead on 5/16/13 a few blocks from previous nest site in Fort Wayne.

...the body was in excellent shape, so it was very recent. She will be sent to a taxidermist for mounting."

Sorry to post this in the midst of all the good news at the Ft. Wayne nest, but now we know what became of our beautiful lady.

Godspeed Freedom.

Even in death Freedom still amazes us.
All the time she was still nearby. Just gave up the nestbox to a new generation. As if the Queen abdicated the throne, handing over the key to the castle to her heirs.
Maybe even came by to have a look at the babies, finally new life in her kingdom.

She now has angel's wings, no doubt flying free and high with her beloved Roosevelt. May she always be a gardian angel for the new family.

:omg So she was alive all this time & let the youngsters have her precious nestbox! If she was found only a few blocks away, Moxie must have let her stay in the area. Actually, she may have known there were babies in the nestbox again. Rest in peace precious lady, you will be fondly remembered. :sorrow:

Thanks for posting that, Gigi. It does help knowing that she's been around & apparently watching what was happening.
:thanku

That was beautifully expressed DEF. I didn't see your post before I made mine, but I can see we were thinking along the same lines. Too bad we don't have the dedicated falcon followers in Ft. Wayne that we do in other places like Rochester, Harrisburg, Wilmington & Canton, or we would probably have known that she was still alive!
