U of A

Fledge watch starts on MOnday . Between peter and I we will be there all day, from 5 Am till 10 pm , so we will post as we can.

I am really hoping for a good fledge .

I tried to get cam to pull back for all the netting and will have to work on that for next year.

I also need to work on getting 3 refresh cams back, but I am careful not to ruffle feathers as one is better than none

Good luck Bev and Peter! It never really occurred to me that you have a lot more light time hours until your post just now. Good grief. That is way too long a day of fledge watching for me, but you are clearly me dedicated than I am!

Looks like he was first to begin plucking the breakfast red-winged blackbird this morning.

And now one of the girls has taken the bird away, and he has been teetering on the edge of the nest, almost falling off!

Green girl keeps slipping, /she looks like she never is going to fledge with all that white.
These guys are all getting a good share if you look at crops. R has not topped them up, that I saw yesterday.
blue looks so much smaller that Green and almost as dark as Black. rethinking sexes here

and as I speak C in , drops and runs. It is in front of blue but black is mantling , yup he has a piece . must have grabbed it

WEber

We have been going down but see that adults on both south an d north side of roof. We sw at least 2 kids in box and I bet some are wandering. I am hoping Gord managed get up there and take a few kids, and band as 5 is too many for site.

After Bell he wanted to do this. he does not wan tto loose any needlessly.

We have delivered most potters there and will cover when we can. Do not expect any fledging for a week and a half but you never know.

I wil get down after U of A shift as much as possible

U of A

As I get final things in order for fledge watch tomorrow, I keep in mind all other sites. these guys do not look ready yet but day 38 for 2 tomorrow , and you just never know.

becasue we do not have the same view as other years :gaaaaah: :gaaaaah: we will have to really keep an eye from ground.

I will be there from 5 Am till 1 Pm and Peter will be there from 1 Pm to 10 pm every day. on weekends we will both be there all day. We will take turns sleeping in car.

I thank in advance , anyone who comes and helps out. WE do some that are going to help us.

B

Please keep us in your thoughts and have positive vibes. I am hoping they are flying well by end of July.

I am always nervous and Peter keeps me grounded.
