Oh Thanks bev. Well that's not too far at all. I don't think that I ever realized that there was a roof right below the nest. That's excellent.

edit
You know, I bet that we could have heard Black from there. Green Girl sounds closer that what I heard this morning, so that would make sense.

well today not a great day.

Peter called as I was going down there and Black band was spotted but Peter needed my help. I was only 3 minutes away, had my dogs with me , and zoomed by Maz front door.

Black band was just above entrance and low and not in good spot. Crowd had already gathered.

( I am sure getting an eye opener about rude, and clueless people). Peter has already got maintenance to let him out on overhang and I am below with table cloth, in case Black band jumps. Peter climbed out and had his gloves but realized , I had cloth, So he whipped off his shirt and contained black band.

He came down and put Black band in box an d off he went to his truck ,up top parking lot.
Well back of box opened and out went Black band onto street. There is Peter scrambling and then me . Lucky cars stopped.

Peter got Black band back into box and secured it and I turned around and I had forgotten to close my car door . My dogs are out and are startled. ( they were rescue dogs so are afraid of almost everything). they could have easily run into traffic but I manged to grab them and get them back to car. A nice lady , with her child , offered to help me.

what a gong show. :girlcrazy: :girlcrazy: I am sure the guys with white jackets were called.

We had black band once again. Gord came 5 hours later and checked him and is taking him home and he will get an d X-ray and he will tether him and watch him. We think he may have bruised or cracked something and that could have been from other day. But he was flapping fine etc. yesterday and Gord felt all bones. We will see. main thing is he is with Gord.
this time I held him. precious guy.

So in all the rain Green girl stayed out and there were several; times we thought she was going to fly. she is not ready so hopefully she will do a lot of flapping on roof below

WEstend bird is here with Peter . So glad he is not alone. He makes me come home.We had a few people today helping us. The next few days will be tense.

Oh my word bev., what a day. Disaster at every turn. Well, everybody is still alive, animals and humans alike. I hope little Black will be fit for duty very soon. Meanwhile Blue is still watching below. I imagine Green is running all around down there, but the craziest thing, I thought I saw something dark come into view just below the nest box. Well it couldn't have been Green, so I don't know. Hopefully she'll stay where she is a day or two and Blue won't fall out of the box looking at her. :-)

Good to hear your report Bev..Once these three are airbourne things may be better! It was the opposite here...as you know...
Is Chase participating while BB tries to fly?, or is he mainly hunting to provide?
Sometimes a young male tries to drive the fledglings down...

last year , we felt as a 2 year old Chase drove our young guy off. but he has been hunting and guiding. when BB took his first flight , which was great, he flew to a point where he could see him and seeme d t o make sure he made a safe landing
but we have noticed there is not as much guidance ,as with our other adult males, but they were much older when I started watching them.

hopfully BB will be back and these girls behave

we had West end bird down there this morning . she offered to come so we could get a bit of rest.
And she is getting her share of action LOL

Low and behold Green girl took flight. I guess she is strong but could not latch onto balcony and came down a bit low on a roof of a loft. We have to be optimistic that she flies out of there and does not go toward The Maz.

Our friend Jean , from the apartments , is keeping an eye on her as we cannot see her.

so Peter is down there and I am going to do a few chores and then go down. We have had some very gracious people offer their help this weekend and we are so grateful.
Blue is out on wrung and she definitely is not ready.

I guess Chase stole the food. that guy
I am out now
thank you for your pciutres and comments. I read them when I come home as we do not see what you do :loveshow: :loveshow:

Great coverage this morning...and many thanks to all of you who are helping with the watch.

Now that I know that everyone is ok, Bev., your summary from yesterday's adventure just had me cracking up. Black escaping, Peter running, Bev running, Dogs escaping...I know it wasn't funny at the time, but just reading about made me chuckle!!!

Here's hoping everyone (including humans, dogs, on lookers) stay safe today!!!

I'm seeing and hearing no one on cam right now...

Yes, I see Blue back in the nest. She sure didn't seem happy or comfortable out on the netting this morning, with a parent above and the other in front of her.

It was funny to see Chase dart into the nest and grab some food. Well, Blue hadn't eaten it, had she?

We had convinced ourselves Green didn't survive her first flight, so it was a great relief to have her spotted on the roof by Jean. We thought she would have been rewarded with some food right away, but both adults just flew back to the nest. Did they insist that Blue come out, I wonder?

I hear calling off-camera - is it Green? Meanwhile, Blue is now practising pouncing on her 'prey'.
Who is Blue chasing out of the box?? Is Green on the netting?
Now Blue is on the rung, practicing wing flaps.
2:42 Maybe they are both on the netting now.
2:47 Green on the box roof?

I too had a chuckle reading bev's account of events. Of course it was not at all funny at the time but . . .
Let's hope for very uneventful and boring weeks to come . :girlyes:

Somebody on the roof, sounds like Green Girl, but can't be sure. I don't even know if Green Girl has made it back up. Will read back some in a minute.

Earlier Blue in the box.

Image

Chase, landed on the box .
Seems like I remember seeing his shadow on the cam for a bit before, probably what Blue is screaming at.

It's hard for me to tell the difference between that blue and green band on the cam, and I can't see her head.

Great coverage. bev, you will need to write a book one day on your falcon adventures. Glad everyone is safe.

Just checking in...and trying to figure out who is on top of the box? I swear, is she glued up there to that spot? I took the DVR all the way back to the beginning to see if I could figure out who it was...well, whomever this is has been standing in this exact same spot the entire time (as best I could tell by spot checking the recording..)

Green on roof about 2:46 nest time. Just before that Blue went over to the right on netting. She was running around there an hour or so later. Green now jumping back and forth between roof and cam.
