Nice to see the girls back together. I didn't see where, when, and how they got their prey, but they are sharing.

well, another day of adventure but the good kind today.

West end bird went early to let us have a sleep in :loveshow: and Rosemarie showed up there also.
Westend is still there with Peter. Peter makes me come home an d spend time with pooches. We do bring them on weekends but weather has been miserable for them there, so they are cooped up in van.

So when we got a call we said oh oh . When I got there, Peter was sitting in the middle of a median with Janice and watching Green girl. And she was not about to move. She was now on entrance to Windsor apartments across from a busy road. thank God it was Sunday. She was safe there and high enough but if she took a turn east we would d have lost view capability.

Peter finally went up to Jeans apartment , when the police started giving him the evil eye.

Finally at about 1:30 Green flew between Windsor apartments and College plaza , turned north and landed on University extension building, right across from us. What a pleasant sight. I know most of you do not know area. I had taken picutres first year and posted them. Must do that again.

Chase tried to take food out of box to take to Green but no success.

A bit later Green had an amazing flight right up to highest part of Clinical science, where we put Black band, then she flew over to silver pillar above nest box and then flew north of maz and turned and flew onto netting. what a day for her.

So, so far so good.
Blue has been flapping good so I am thinking she will go tomorrow. would like her to wait a day but Green did not listen so why should she LOL

Glad for the reports becasue we thought it was blue on roof and green on net, as Blue had gone onto netting . explains a lot.

:loveshow: :loveshow: :loveshow:

I forgot to add that I was impressed with Chase and R today as they guided our girl many times. It must have taken a few days for Chases wires to cross in right direction. He was not like this with Black band. maybe with some guidance , black would not have needed rescuing.

We wil never know

Checked in to find 2 juvies on the roof, although one had just kind of crash landed there. Not sure which two. The smaller one did a little bow to the other when she landed.

edit

Ok it's Blue and Green, was hoping that it might be little Black up there. They are aggressively beaking.

Well good morning. Today I was there at first light, :teehee: I beat Peter there(he stopped for coffee). I had a hard time finding them, they where still sleeping in the nest box. Again green made another trip across the parkade and bat caked 3 feet shy of the very top of college plaza, that is where Chase was roosting. She slided down the side and of building, and back over our heads towards the nest and land back to the very top ledge above the nest. Jumping down out of view and back up several times. She was working her way towards the north end of the building just before I left. My thought is that she is going to do the fly up to the Maz. That is just east of the nest on the same block. Well , it time for me to get to work.

Thanks so much for your report, Westend...I would post a pic, but PB is not cooperating for me right now...

Had one on the roof and one in the box...the one in the box hopped to the perch and is now out of view..Don't know where she went as I was typing...

The one up top almost looks like a black band..Has Black boy been released?

:ohyes: Carol and I spent the evening with Peter on the parkade roof watching strong aerial displays by Miss Green who is learning quickly. It was quite windy when we arrived. Bev was there and watched some of the festivities but she did go home fairly early in the evening. Rosemary dropped in for a short visit at one point. Green is performing long flights, doing some gliding, learning how to gain altitude and figuring out how to stick her landings. The first landing we watched, on the roof of the Clinical Science Building (where Black was released after his first rescue) was more of a trip and a stumble but her last landing was nearly perfect. We were also treated to some fancy stationary floating by the two adults, including several minutes when Radisson parked herself in the sky and rode the wind with minor balance adjustments, as steady as a satellite parked in a stationary orbit. At one point, the adults were distressed by some workers on the roof of a nearby apartment building about a block away from the nest box. They gave those workers several pieces of their minds and dove repeatedly near them. The kids stayed put during that episode. The adults also took to combat stations when a hawk flew through the area at relatively high altitude. The Hawk flew off to the southeast as the two adults watched but did not engage. Blue, meanwhile, stayed at the nest box all evening, on the roof, on the netting, on the camera, where she did some flapping. She is not ready to go yet; maybe tomorrow or Wednesday. Green, from my uninformed eye, will be ok from here on out. When we left about sundown, both chicks were at the nest box preparing (I hope) to turn in for the night. Peter was going to do the same after we left. :hapdance:

thanks Bob. I was hoping you would post

At 6:31am this morning, July30 , blue had her maiden flight. Peter said it was strong and she made it to ledges below college plaza, veered off and landed on ledge of Clinical science where green wemt yesterday and mom left her food

Green made it to top of College plaza this morning and is now back at box area on netting waiting to be fed

they seem to want to stick to area . good for practising , so you should still see them on cam

I am contacting Gord today about Black band
here is video of her shadow taking off
