This morning, B & DC have been seen together, and P & UT are together at BS.

And as of 9:47am ET, both B & DC are on the FCT. I think they had a quick bonding session (right side of picture, grey part of tower):

I have to say, it seems DC has been spending much more time with Beauty during the "off season" than last year, and most of the tweets from watchers indicate these two are normally on the same building together. Very nice!

And I think Beauty just flew off at 9:51AM. And DC followed several seconds later.

Thanks, mwplay! I like hearing that, especially since Pigott has someone else to keep her company! :loveshow:

This pic isn't Billy, SGB. It was taken by Sage at the Montezuma NWR, near Syracuse, NY, and is thought to be a banded juvie that was hatched at an undisclosed (for security reasons) nest site area near Rochester.

MAK's AM report:

As of tonight, UT/Pigott were both seen just before dark at BS and Beauty/DC were both seen DT. DC hasn't been seen by watchers at BS since UT has been with Pigott, which we are finding very interesting. :hall7:

I find that very interesting, too, Kris. I like the idea that they all have their own mate & don't have to share with anybody else, at least for the moment...

Well not really for Miss P. ..the fact she didn't respond to DC and left and didn't return is very telling. She was also quite accepting of UT very quickly. Remember all those times she was gone this year? Perhaps she met him elsewhere and she has decided her best chances at producing offspring is with a more dedicated mate. She's had 2 years of no eggs while DC has had great success with Beauty. Just thinking out loud ..but I think Pigott might be ready to move on...the question is, will DC let her?

I often have wondered if Pigott is still really that into 'DC' especially after their nest site was boarded up this year. To me she seems too submissive to him...and it should be the other way around. Beauty at least goes toe to toe with him and stands up to him. Not a criticism in any way of Pigott but B is the stronger falcon of the two.

What I meant was DC's back to his old ways or did he ever stop? MAK and I were talking last night and she said DC acts real strange around Beauty-more like a juvie interacting with its parent vs a mate. He begs Beauty for food and steals it when he gets a chance-maybe just being opportunistic. There's still no nest box bonding which he did with B last year, at least on a couple occasions before he left. MAK did say today that Pigott acted quite agitated with DC so who knows where her thoughts are-no sign of UT by watchers so did she meet him when she flew off or has he been driven out? Too many questions that we'll probably never have answers for.
